Anyone planning a Disney Hawaii Honeymoon in 2012?

To my understanding the new Hawaii resort is suppose to open late 2011. Which means me and DF get to have our honeymoon there!!! We've always talked about Hawaii and now that this resort should be done we can go there through disney!!

Does anyone know what activities will be available to do? How much the rooms will be? If they will have a similiar transportation like ME in Hawaii so renting a car is not needed? When can these rooms be booked? Will Disney Honeymoon registry be available for this resort also?

I know it's far away but I'm really excited and can't wait to book it!!

I do not know anything about the prices, however I did want to let you know that you will probably want to rent a car. Where the resort is being built is about 30 miles away from Waikiki. The beach/lagoon that they are building on is beautiful (dh & I spent a lot of time over there) however if you want to see other parts of the island, more "touristy" things like North Shore (I highly recommend Aoki's for shave ice!), the Arizona memorial, Waikiki beach, Diamond head, Ala Moana shopping center, the Polynesian Cultural Center you will probably want a car. Hopefully this will help you out a little, if you have any other questions about Oahu, please feel free to ask away!

I would hope that Disney plans to utilize a bus system to bring you back and forth to the popular sites around the island!

Hey Amanda! My fiance and I want to go to Hawaii for our honeymoon too in February 2012, and I want to stay at the new Disney resort too! Probably not for our whole honeymoon, but at least a few days! I cant wait, Ive always wanted to go to Hawaii!! I dont think theyve released any details about the resort excepts that it will be half DVC and half regular resort, Im guessing the prices will be similiar to GF, the most expensive Deluxe, at least. My Dad has DVC so we may look into getting some points from him to rent if its super expensive. I cant wait until they release more details too!

I have signed up to get updates. It says it opens Fall 2011, so if your going in June 2011 it prob won't be open yet. But never know it might be early!!

Yes, it's funny I read your PJ today and actually commented on it. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your e-pics and I love the flower in your hair!! I found a ribbon Peony that I might make tomorrow for my hair. We have our e-pics this sunday.

Where did you get your flower? I have a few but brown so I might end up wearing that one if the ribbon flower doesn't come out.

From what I have read, the resort will open October 2011 and they will start taking reservations October of 2010. I can hardly wait.

Not going on our honeymoon, but we plan on going for our 3rd anniversary in May 2012!! We own DVC and are going to save our points, can't wait!!

Hey! We're looking into doing it for part of our honeymoon.. all depending on the pricing!

We wanna do DisneyLand for like 3 or 4 days and then head over to Aulani for a week or so? Hopefully things work out for the both of us!

I am very familiar with Hawaii, I worked there for two years commuting from NJ (went every 3 months!)

I always took a shuttle, it is a city Oahu and driving there is pretty crazy. I am sure Disney will have something set up but I used a private company and it was very reasonable.

Disney will do like every other hotel in terms of shore excursions. I love the north shore, snorkeling there is amazing!

That link is to Hanauma Bay, beautiful snorkeling and FREE, it is a national park. I used to pack snorkeling gear so I did not have to rent it and took a shuttle for like 10 bucks over there...

They have a lot of great activities including taking a plane to the other islands..the farthest island, Big Island is like an hour away so it is really not that bad of a ride. They have a volcano there that is active right now, it is amazing!

Hawaii can be expensive on food so if they offer the disney dining plan I would say grab it!

Check out this resort, they out source their activities and many of the hotels there did the same from what I remember. They have a sampling of the activities there for you to check out.

Have a blast, we are talking of returning to Hawaii before we decided on having children
