Anyone own a handheld PDA?? Just found out something the hard way!!

I just got this new "toy" a few months ago. There was really nothing "important" in it....a few games and my address book and calendar(with ALOT of entries!!!) that I just spent HOURS loading in there a couple weeks ago.

Well, little did I know...if the battery goes completely dead...I lose everything!!! And that's what happened!!! EEEK!!!!!

PLUS.......my computer died 2 weeks ago.....lost my whole hard drive!!!! I think if my old hard drive was here...I could have "recovered" my stuff from something called "palm desktop for Clie'.

Anyway.....Now I have to input everything again.....

I do have a memory stick slot for it.....but haven't figured that out yet......

I took my DWs Clie' back & traded for a Palm 125 because of this

My Palm brand Vx that I've had for 2 years has never dumped the memory when dead.

I recommend backing up your address book (address.dat) every so often onto a CD or floppy.

That bites a big one, I would go nuts if that happened to me. I can handle alot of things in life but my computer is a touxhy thing with me. Hope you get everything the way it was.

I have a Palm and my memory was erased when my battery went dead. Bad me for not backing up my newest entries (I haven't backed up in a few months), so I have to start all over. Blechh.

I thought that you have 30 seconds to change the batteries and then you will not lose anything. I guess I'm PALMUNTECHNOLOGICALLY inclined. YIKES
