Just looking for opinions from anyone who owns a Dodge Charger. We are seriously considering buying one tomorrow.

TIA!

I don't but my sister did. She liked the car but had a multitude of problems with it so she traded it for something else.

Tons of front end problems. Google it. We have a 2008 Caliber, also a mistake. We owe twice what it's worth.

I was out at the Sacramento Sheriff's Emergency Vehicle Operations center when they were testing the police version of the Charger.
They loved everything about the car except the ABS. They felt it engaged far too quickly for police work. That's not uncommon, a lot of police departments order their patrol cars without ABS because they feel a well trained driver can better control the car.
No word yet on durability, and in police use any shortcomings will turn up quickly.
I haven't been in one, but just looking at them I wonder how easy they are to get in an out of.

I have one, DS drives it. We've had zero problems, it's easy to get in and out of and comfortable for us (we're all pretty tall.)

DS loves it. It's a 2008 model.

Whatever you do....DO NOT get one with the 2.7L V6. Engine has tons of issues and a dog. One of Chrysler's mistakes and sadly most you'll find are ex-rentals with that engine.

If you at least wanna V6, get one with the High Output 3.5L. Otherwise HEMI V8!!!!!!

My father owned one and had a bunch of problems... was the Hemi V8 model as well. He ended up getting rid of it and going for the Pontiac G8 GT model (also a V8). The G8 is a car also to consider, but the interior is noticeably smaller.

We are looking at the V6 3.5L.

I have a 2006 3.5L V6 and love it. It was a program car prior to my acquiring it.

I've had it since Oct. 2007 and only this year had a few things that needed replaced--the only serious problem being tiny pieces that slide back and forth in the brake mechanism (not sure what the technical term is) were defective. I have no idea if it's a problem limited to '06 models, just mine or what, but it might be worth asking about. Even with the extended warranty, it was still a few hundred dollars to fix.

If you're just looking at it as a family car to get you from point A to B, I think it's a great car and have gotten many compliments on mine. My mom, who has a 2009 Challenger even likes it. I don't know anything about it's performance aspects, but I know it works perfectly for my needs. It's roomy, comfortable and easy to get in and out of.

A brand new and redesigned Charger comes out in a few months, so if you are the type that doesn't like having the "old generation" body, don't buy it and wait for the new one.

We have one. Of course its new so we still love it. Got it in June after having 1 as a rental for a week. We really liked it and it was the first car my 6'2" husband was truly comfortable in. We both had trucks prior. Its the 3.5 v6. Its plenty quick and no problems so far.
Don't know where you live but keep in mind it is rear wheel drive so it will be useless in the snow. We will probably be parking it over the winter.
