OK, DD (almost 3) is on Keppra 2x day. She takes it at 9 am and 9 pm. So, since Keppra needs to be kept at room temperature and out of sunlight, how can it transport it in my backpack to make sure I have it on hand in the park?
I know it will lose it's affectiveness if it overheats, but can I pack it in a small ice back to keep it from overheating? I don't know how cold affects it.
I usually carry a small child medicine dropper (with the stopper thing on the end) around in my bag in case I leave the house before her dose, or possibly get home late, but my bag is always with me and heat is not an issue.
We're going to Disney in October, but I know it will still be hot, and I really don't want to have to drop off that emergency dose at the nurse station considering the park hopping and such. I definitely know there will be mornings when we're up and gone before she had the meds and late nights when we won't be back in time for her to take them. It just seems easier to be able to keep it with me in the bag.
Anyone have experience with this??
