I like the menu because it has such a variety. We were wanting to have a casual dinner with my best friend and her husband to celebrate their 25th anniversary. :cheer2: I am going to order a :cake: from GF that I saw on this board. I know they won't deliver but I can go get it that day and keep it in our room until dinner. I was just wondering if anyone had ordered and how long it took to get your meal and was it still hot, tasty, etc....I would hate to have an expectation and it ruins the whole experience for us....

Thanks for any information you can give. Also if anyone has any pictures of the in-house dining, I would love to see them!! :worship: :thewave:

I don't have any pictures but we've ordered room service there many times. Mostly it has been Tonga Toast and pancakes for breakfast or cheeseburgers but we've had other things over the years. Everything arrives quickly and is always hot and tasty. Barbara and Stan (I think) have been there for years and do a great job. A different Barbara and Nancy take the orders. We love Polynesian room service.

It used to be that we would just order it for DS2 and usually me on nights he got too tired to go to dinner. But now we actually build a night into our schedule for it. It is just relaxing to hang around the resort and room.

We did miss the table this past trip however.

Happy dining.

We have ordered from there a couple of times. I love the chicken quesadillas and their cheese plate is definitely worth it. Everything arrives quick and hot. The waitstaff is really nice. The first time the waiter even pointed out that I didn't have to tip him since it was included in the price -- definitely earned himself an extra tip for honesty in my book! You will love it!

We've ordered breakfast and some late night snacks and sandwiches, everything was great. Service was prompt and they come in and set up the table for you with silverware, tablecloth, etc. If you order adult beverages they come in a big ice bucket but with no ice in the drinks, so they do not get watered down, nice touch.

Just reliving a great memory of Room Service at the Poly.......

It was just before 6:00am or so after a pretty late night at MK. I was awake and up and at 'em. The rest of the family was snoozing away. I went down to the concierge area and nothing (as assumed) was ready yet, so I ordered some Kona coffee and Tonga Toast for myself to eat on the balcony. After a short while here comes my server (I waited at the door to avoid any knocks) I quietly slipped out to the balcony and had the MOST WONDERFUL meal ever at WDW. Unbelievably peaceful and pretty on a quiet March morning in front of the castle. The food was excellent, the coffee perfect and my day was off to a glorious start......and then the kids woke up.....(but that's another story...)

Thanks for the reminder.......(who am I kidding, I think of that all the time!!)

That sounds so delightful!

BTW, I think the room service guy might be Ken not Stan....any help out there?

I can't recall his name, but the gentleman who brought our food last time was really nice, talked to us about the table situation, etc and also reminded us not to tip him--in fact, we tried repeatedly to get him to take it, and he wouldn't.

To the OP: have you considered Private Dining? I know you want a "casual" thing, but I think you would really enjoy a Private Dining event, and then you could be sure all the details would be perfect. Either way, you will enjoy, I am sure. We have always been happy with our room service experiences--I would like more variety on the menu though! (since we visit relatively often and they removed one of my favorites from the menu, lol)

DH and I ordered room service a lot last November. Always hot, and tasty! We found that we would each get a house salad or app then we split an entree. It was Plenty of food! Saved some money that way - so we gave more of a tip. Great service and food. We'll be back in Feb! Have a great time!

We do room service quite a bit at the Poly. They have changed the menu as of October 5th of this year though. I don't think they had much of anything on the new menu that was on the old one.

Thanks so much everyone for the replies!! :flower3: This sounds perfect. I was just worried it might not be hot and prompt. So glad to hear such great reviews. :cheer2:

You can order adult drinks also and have delivered to the room? :tilt: This is great.

Great drinks, great meal, beautiful/delicious cake...will make for a great surprise for my best friend and her husband. We wanted to treat them one night to a nice meal and surprise. We can even go down to the beach and watch fireworks after the meal....Can't wait!! :bounce: :bounce:

Thanks everyone!

Bumping this up....hoping to get more reviews on in-room dining.... :rolleyes1

Does anyone have a copy of the new menu or a rough idea of what is different from the 5/05 one on allears? Thanks for any help!!!

I didn't think it was that much different than the old one. Perhaps Skiwee and I were looking for different things.

Tonga Toast is still there. :sunny: The burger and club sandwich are too. Pizza as well. Quesedila is off. Sorry I can't remember more. :confused3

The new menu had a lot more Asian foods on there then before. I'll have to look better next time. I'll be there in 20 days!! Yipee! Oh wait. I'm staying at the CR this trip. Rats!

Has anyone ever ordered the appetizers?? :wave2: Was wondering about the sampler for 2?? And also the fruit and cheese platter..?? :flower:

I've gotten the sampler for two. I am not sure if it has the same stuff on it as we had it last year. It has mini spring rolls which were okay. The ribs and wings were very good! Only the spring rolls didn't impress me.

Tikiman has the new room service menu up on his site now.

And Skiwee, I still don't see the big difference. :rotfl: Although the mahi mahi is new I believe. I actually didn't notice it on the new menu when we were there in October. I love it at Kona and am sure it would be great from room service as well.

I don't see the BBQ ribs...or quesadilla.. :sad1: I sorta had my menu planned out already...I also wanted to try the sampler platter and it has changed up.... :crazy2:

Oh well...I'm not gonna let that ruin anything by any means...will just order something else good....Can't wait for my first stay at the Poly... :jumping1: :dancer: :rockband: :fish: :thewave:

Yep they are gone along with a couple other entrees and appetizers. They did add a a couple of asian noodle dishes that weren't on the old one.
