Anyone order "Thanksgiving Dinner"

We did several years ago when I had been recovering from a pretty serious illness. We ordered from a local grocery store, but not a chain. The food was quite good.

Yep, we did this and I cooked some additional sides and desserts.
Easy Peasy....

This year however, Mom is cooking and I am doing desserts so it's easy peasy again.

Christmas I will cook with all of the trimmings - just because I make my Ham a certain way and absolutely cannot stand spiral hams which is what most of the take away dinners around here are.

We always ordered our turkey and desserts. I would make any side dishes like potatoes and vegetables. This year we are going to make it ourselves only because the restaurant that we ordered from closed down.

We didn't even know that it had closed until recently. We loved their baked goods. Always delicious!!! We didn't get potatoes because they made them with onions and DH didn't care for them.

Had to smile though because the restaurant owner went through a bad divorce and had to close one of his two places. Then obviously lost alot of business and finally closed the other restaurant and moved out of town with his girlfriend.

While I was working it was great to be able to pick up the turkey and desserts and then just make the other things for our dinner on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Don't have to worry about Christmas this year because we are going to my parents in CA. We thought about going out for dinner but DH LOVES leftovers - so do I. So even though it is only the two of us, we are going to make dinner.

Thanks everyone...I think this is what we will do. It was a toss up between that or going to The Fort here in Colorado. My parents, back in KY, always had the most yummy Thanksgiving dinners (everything was homemade) - but we can't go this year, so, she is doing it at Christmas this year!

Last year my DS28 and I went out to a chinese resturant, it was great!
He passed away in July, my mom has to work and my DS20 is going to his girlfriends hometown to be with her family.
I have ordered ham from Honeybaked ham and will cook a turkey and fixings for dinner that night for my mom and me , but I am going back to the chinese resturant for lunch, it was so good!
I have ordered turkey dinner from Krogers in the past and it was good,we did have to cook the precooked turkey for a while to crisp the skin.
