I'm wondering how long it's taking for the card to come. I know when it was first opened up to AP holders last year, there was a huge backup in receiving the card. Has this eased up any?

My current card expires this month. I'm going to let it run out, and then order a new one before my August trip, and this way that card will cover my August 2006 trip and my June 2007 trip. I'm just not sure how soon before my August trip I should order it.
Thanks! :sunny:

It takes a few weeks but you can arrange to pick up a temporary one at Epcot Guest Services if it doesn't get there in time for your trip.

Thanks! I didn't realize that I could pick up a temporary one Guest Services. I actually used an email letter last year and didn't receive my card until after I got home.
Actually, I'm letting my AP expire and then buying a new one, so I'll have to go there to activate my new AP anyway.

I renewed mine on April 18th via fax. I'll let you know when I get it! Hopefully only another week or so since I don't feel like going to Epcot to pick it up! :teeth:

We were advised not to order until Nov for our Dec trip, so it would still be good for next Dec. I did NOT want to deal with a temporary card, but I followed their advice, and the card came in a couple weeks, in plenty of time for our trip. So I think turnaround is pretty good now.

I actually recieved mine the day before I left for my last trip. Talk about great timing! We waited about a month and the CM told me that's about normal.

Thanks everyone! It's a little tricky for me, since I have a relatively small window to work with. I need my AP to order the DDE, but like I said, I'm letting my current AP expire (5/14/06) and then ordering a new one (even tho I lose my $40 discount for renewing) so I can use it for a trip in Aug. 06 and June 07. So, I have to order my AP, get my voucher, and then order my DDE, and do this after June 28, 2006 but before August 3, 2006.
