We would like to see many restaurants in the World Showcase but don't have enough time or money. Has anyone done this, just get dessert? Or drinks?

I haven't done it before but that is similar to how we plan on eating for this trip. I'm a huge dessert fan (and 7 mos. pregnant) so I plan on eating appetizers and dessert at some places to save money. Entrees these days on normally so huge anyway that I can never finish them. Oh, and if I wasn't pregnant you can bet that I would be stopping off at a few places just for cocktails or dessert and a glass of champagne. :thumbsup2

Exactly how I feel. Most of the time when we're at Disney we're running around so much we seem to eat one regular meal, then smaller meals or dessert at fast food places. I would just rather do this at a nice restaurant. Maybe get lunch somewhere but later have dessert at a different restaurant. Oh, by the way, I know what you mean about the pregnant thing. I had ice cream every day when I was pregnant w/my now 2 year old daughter. It's weird but that same ice cream doesn't do anything for me now. But at that time, I had to have it.

There was a review a couple of month's ago when Mister Disney and Kevin went to Chefs de France for dessert, and ordered all the desserts.

My mom sad in alfredos' and had just coffee and dessert one afternoon around 2pm with my DS sleeping in the stroller. She totally enjoyed the break in the A/C, and she was catered to by the staff.

I'm so glad to hear that the waiters treated her good even though she wasn't having lunch. Recently at a restaurant in my town the waitress said to me "Usually people order dinners here". She made me feel really bad. I have ordered just dessert and drinks many places around here and that was the first rude comment.

That sounds like my kind of meal !! yum yum yum popcorn::

We have done this at Akershus twice as I really love their desserts. It can be a little tricky at a place like that as it is primarily a buffet and they have a set price. When I went in the mid-90s it was a buffet but the desserts were a la carte. Now it's all included in the price. Unfortuantely, they've gone from like five desserts to I think three now. And they've done away with my favorite - a very unique goat cheese cheesecake with a thin layer of berry sauce on the top. We last did dessert there on an afternoon in '04 and it was excellent and so was the service. It's just getting past that intial explaination of not wanting the buffet. We had our desserts, two coffees, and a bottle of Voss for around $25. I also tipped at 50% since she was great and I was so happy they allowed us to do that.

I have had the Sticky toffee Pudding & Apple Crumb deserts at Rose & Crown Pub. They were both very good. :)

Those both sound good. I haven't decided yet if we're having dinner there w/Illuminations or just get dessert and watch the show from somewhere else.
