Anyone not sleep in there room for a night or two

Because if you have the same people booked at 2 different resorts, it is obvious that you do not plan on keeping both reservations. I think you have 2 weeks prior to your vacation to get your deposit back. Disney would not be making any money from you on one of those rooms. You just lent some to them for a while. People were getting cute and booking, say a room at the Poly and a room at the Pop, and then deciding later which one they could afford. That left lots of rooms empty at the last minute. Not good for business.

That makes sense. Thanks:)

Wow, people sure are savvy. Doing something like this would never even occur to me.

While it might be likely that if you booked all the same days, say 7 nights at two Disney hotels then they might think that.
But if you book 7 nights at one and just 2 or 3 of the same nights at a second hotel it is not clear that is what you are doing. In any case if you have paid for the room they have no business cancelling it do they. It is not up to them to determine how you plan to use the room, as long as it is lawful it is not their business. In the case of the OP and in my case we are in fact keeping and paying for the rooms not holding one while we decide which we will use.

Exactly. we will use and pay for both rooms.

Sorry I did not know that this would become a debate, I just was curious if anyone else had done this and what their experience was.

Financially for Disney it makes more sense to have 4 people staying in 2 rooms as opposed to 2 people staying in 1 room, but with 2 rooms booked. More people=more money spent on things like food, sundries, and souvineers.

I think there is a very small percentage of people who would actually book and keep rooms at seperate resorts at the same time. And Disney probably does not worry about it too much. Mostly they are just trying to keep people from playing the code game, like I mentioned before.
