"My main reason I don't buy a pair...I have an allergy to plastic, latex, and some rubber materials and I dont want to fork out the money only to find out I can't wear them!"
My ds is allergic to latex as well. I was nervous about having them in the house. I contacted Crocs directly and although they said they couldn't tell me what the shoes are made of (proprietary), they did say there is no NRL (natural rubber latex). You might contact them to see if they contain any of the other materials that you are allergic to.

Orthotics are a device that changes/corrects the way that you walk (your gait cycle), providing support and change (while you are wearing them) in all the right places, which can relieve moderate to major stresses that can affect your feet (plantar fasciatis, heel spurs etc), knees, lowback etc.
I purchased them anyway. The flip flops I love but reading my daily Disboards I ordered a pair of Teva Mush flip flops today. I will bring both pairs and also a pair of walking tennis shoes for our trip.
