Anyone NOT done WOC....

FP for WOC are now a lot easier to get due to carsland. I was able to get blue early show FP at 9AM without any wait in line Aug 14th and Aug 15th...

We just got back to the hotel after watching WoC. We loved it! DS9 decided it is his favorite Disney show between DLR and WDW.

DH got our FPs right after he got our RSR FPs... Ended up being around 10am... There was no line. We got Blue for 9pm. When I walked by the machines early evening there were still passes for the 10:15 show.

ETA... Forgot to say we showed up at 8:30 and we had lots of places to choose from. We got a good railing spot. I thought when we showed up that "late" we were going to have a horrible spot. Glad we went on RSR on last time instead of sitting around waiting!

Got our WoC passes the same time. And we showed up at 8:50 and were right on the bridge.

We have not taken the time to get FP for WOC. We've seen it in passing, but only parts of it, and only behind the crowd. Honestly, it's not really my cup of tea; I'd rather see Fantasmic or the Fireworks, if I'm going to keep my kids up late and sitting around to see a show.

We are staying at the PPH in park view room in October, so I'm hoping to just get an idea of the show. I know it's only the back, but that's good enough for me for now.

Once my kids are older and don't need naps, earlier bedtime, I'll consider it at that time.

If I knew that I was never going back to DL, then yeah, I'd make more of an effort to see it. But seeing as how we have APs this year and will be making probably at least once yearly trip after our passes expire, we'll have plenty of opportunity in the future.

I skipped it with our kids because they are too little to see over everyone standing up. If there were seats... we would have given it a try.

I'll watch it when I am there solo in January because I am interested, but I'm NOT interested in hanging out for an hour + with 4 little kids who won't be able to see anyway.

We've hit up WOC every single time we've been to the Disneyland Resort, off-season or otherwise. We always went to the Disney California Adventure park right at opening and managed to snag a Fastpass for the show with hardly any hastle what-so-ever. :cool1:

Got our WoC passes the same time. And we showed up at 8:50 and were right on the bridge.

Wow! This is great. I wonder if this is becoming the trend, with not having to show up quite as early. Isn't the bridge one of the better spots to view the show from?

I realize we all have our different "favorite" experiences, but for my family WoC is the best Disney nighttime show worldwide. I honestly think that those of you who are avoiding it due to perceived hassles are missing out on a wonderful, unique, and amazing experience.

Also, the so-called hassle is probably a lot less onerous than random posts on internet message boards would have you believe.

Finally, just do the dining package! You get a nice meal and then can walk up to the viewing area five minutes before the show and get a great spot. Nothing is more hassle-free than that!

I have been twice this year (and am going twice more this year) and have yet to see it. I don't like that you have to stand and wait to get in then stand and wait to see the show.

I guess I am spoiled with WDW and all of their shows (not including fireworks and parades) having seats.

The times we watched it, we did the dining package...got there only 30 min before and we were very front and center (during the summer). The kids just LOVE WOC!! I found it much easier to manage than fantasmic...

We just went to our first trip to DL & completely skipped WOC. My kids are 12 & 8. Quite honestly, we heard how amazing it is but the stress of trying to show up hours early to get a good spot or eating at restaurants our kids wouldn't enjoy just wasn't worth it to us. We would much rather spend that time going to the attractions or spending time at the resort. We did get FP's one day just in case we changed our minds but never used them. But then we go to WDW 2-3 times a year and rarely go to Illuminations, Fantasmic or Wishes either :rolleyes1

We did have a standard room at the DL hotel where we were able to see the fireworks every night which was really a great surprise!

First - my kids can fall asleep anywhere! And second, when WOC opened, our youngest was finally 40". I just couldn't justify telling them they would have to stop going on rides to go wait for the show - especially knowing they would likely fall asleep before it started. We skipped it many times - but made other guests very happy when we gave them our FPs. We have now seen it twice - and I do love it. The first time DD6 fell asleep while waiting. The 2nd time, DD4 did - so at least they have each seen it once. Same holds true for Fantasmic and fireworks. If we stumble upon an okay viewing area last minute - we will watch. If we stake out a spot early, kids are asleep before showtime.

It seems like it would be pretty cool, but honestly, the viewing spots are going to fill up so quickly when we're there (New Years) that I would rather use that time for rides hoping for slightly shorter lines...

Just my opinion

Been 5 trips to DLR since WOC opened and still haven't seen it. Finally, this last November, I went and gathered fast passes with the intention of waiting and seeing it and it got cancelled due to rain and wind. I didn't try again that trip. We'll be back in October, so I think we'll try then.

I did it once in 2010 with the dinner package from Ariel's. Even with the package, the amount of standing around was foot-numbing, although we had an excellent view. I won't be doing it again, at least not from somewhere that requires me to stand in one place for that long. Or sit on the ground.

The dinner package was pretty awesome though. Left with a whole styrofoam container full of tiny desserts. I understand Ariel's went character and doesn't do the package anymore.

I have done it once. I have thought about it since. I've even collected fast passes with the full intention of going. As the time to line up drew near I started getting real jittery and nervous just thinking about all the hassle and ended up giving our fast passes away. Maybe someday I will have the stomach to brave that cattle call. The thing at probably upsets me most is that you can be early to the line, stand in the right spot and move through the queue as instructed and still end up with people rushing past in a free for all. It is so NOT a Disney experience.

Wow great responses! I have decide to skip it because of little ones!....and enjoy (hopefully) a nice dinner!

I have an AP and still haven't seen it. Either we would get to the parks too late for FPs, or arrive early and not stay late enough for the show. Plus, we don't like waiting a long time for shows or rides. Hope to see it soon in the off-season.

Seen it twice within the last 2 years with my DD2 and this year she obviously turned 3. She loves it. We always have the view right next to the water. The way my wife and I get away with the wait is she is a HUGE Ariel fan, so one of us holds the spot and the other one rides The Little Mermaid ride with her for consecutive times in a row. When we've gone to watch WOC, the line to the ride is less than a minute...WOC is Pretty rad in person, especially with the "On Stranger Tides" version...Watch it on You Tube and see what you missed!!!! You Feel the Flames in person !!!!

I saw this earlier this year... did the dining package, had a great view, but we both thought the show was stupid and underwhelming.

We even went back and got a FastPass on the third day, just to give it another shot. Nope... Just a completely useless, uninteresting show. At least it draws crowds for a while so we can escape to Disneyland with a little lighter crowds. (Note: since DCA has fewer attractions, and WoC forces the closure of several Paradise Pier attactions, the rest of DCA's lines aren't helped... Go to DL during the show if you can.)

A complete miss for us.
