Anyone NOT done WOC because of the fuss it takes to actually get a decent viewing spot? Just wondering....

We chickened on our last trip two years ago, when it was still very new. We are hoping to be braver this trip on October :)

We went in the off season and it wasn't a problem. It was a new attraction for us.
We felt the hassle of getting a FP ticket, then getting in line ahead of time for a nice viewing spot was part of the trip.
I really enjoyed it and so did my 17 yr old grandson and 14 yr old grand-daughter.
We will go through the hoops during our next trip too!

Now summer crowds may be another issue..

My boyfriend and I really wanted to see it when we went in October '10. We were at the parks for 3 days and had fast passes to see it 2 of those days and just never found the time. Hopefully we can finally see it when we go on February!

I dont think we are going to see it because my kids are still young-- 4 yo and 1 yo. They will probably appreciate mommy for sending them to bed early and wake up early for the Toontown morning magic. Besides, I will have the excuse to go visit DLR again.

We skipped it. It looks like it is worth the time of getting fastpasses and arriving early to get a seat, but my kids are not the type to spend time at DL or WDW sitting around. They don't complain if it means they have to miss something, they would much rather be riding or doing something rather than sitting and waiting an hour or more for a show. That means we miss a lot of shows and we don't ever get in line for characters (we do lots of character meals instead), but if they are OK with it, so am I.

We did get to see Fantasmic because we lucked into a spot 15 minutes before it started, and it was excellent. My boys are still raving about it!

We've taken three trips since WOC opened, and we haven't seen it yet. It does seem like a huge hassle to get FPs and line up for a viewing spot. The other issue is that my DS17 has Asperger's and is very sensitive to being touched or bumped by strangers. When he gets into a crowd, he starts getting anxious about how we're going to get out. It's just not worth it to us.

We totally chickened out last August but when we went this past March for my 40th b-day, we did the WoC dining and got preferred viewing tix. We all (me, DH and DS (6 at the time and he's asd so crowds are not his thing) loved it and we will probably do it again next time.

We haven't seen it from a FP viewing spot. My kids are too small to have to line up and stand for that long. We did however happen to come out the LM ride and they had a small roped off area against the ride - where we could sit for the entire show! The large path for walking went in front of us, so I can't say it was totally unubstructed, but it was a straight on, pretty good view.

We've been once since it opened, but none of us have gone yet. I think it's the sardine-like viewing area; not terribly fun for those of us under 5'4"! We're thinking about it for our trip in December, but doubt we will then either.

We have opted not to take the time to wait for the show. I know it is a great show but we have a hard time waiting that long to get a good spot.

We have been to the resort eleven times since WoC opened. We only watched from the front the first time and didn't feel the experience was worth it to us, so we haven't done it since. We caught the whole show from behind once, and we have seen bits and pieces of it in passing. Maybe sometime we'll give it another shot, but none of us were that enthralled and I too hate the whole being packed in like sardines thing.

We've been to DLR 3x since WOC opened (coming up on a 4th pretty quickly now) and have yet to see it but are debating going during our next trip. We saw a video of the entire show on Vimeo right when it premiered. Thought it looked AMAZING. But the more we researched peoples experiences, the less appealing it became. It just seemed like an enormous hassle and super time-consuming. I recall seeing a photo of a little girl, looked about 2, passed out on a sidewalk (literally LAYING on bare concrete, no blanket or anything beneath her) as her family waited for WOC to begin. We have 2 small children and we were simply not interested in subjecting them to the lengths we'd have to go to, an ordeal, just to see it.
Now that the show has been open a while and we're going in the off-season and it's our last DLR trip for goodness knows how long, we're thinking it might be time to go. I think it would be easier to get the FP, easier to get a decent seat without waiting for hours, less of a fiasco now.

Haven't seen it. I've been multiple times to the resort since WOC began and I'm sure it's great but I'd just rather be doing other things with my time. For that matter, I've never seen Fantasmic other than the snippets I've caught on my way too/from something else.

We skipped the hassle of it all during our May trip but we plan to do it in Nov. The dining package for CCR and WOC FP and their viewing area sounds like it will work well for us. Plus we intended to eat at CCR anyhow, so the FP is an added perk.

I'm not sure it can compete with F! in my opinion, but since it is easier to do the WOC viewing now we want to see it once.
