Have we still heard nothing on what Disneyland is doing with the Haunted Mansion during Halloween time?
I mean with the 40th anniversary they can't close it during the time they usually do and they would be REALLY dumb to close it during Halloween month since that's the biggest month for it.
I hope they announce something soon!! I'm so anxious to see if it's going to be regular or Nightmare Before Christmas
(please no arguments over which you think is better, that never ends well lol)

I've never seen the overlay and am going in October, so I hope they still change it, but I have no control.

This is what I was saying in a different thread regarding HMH and Halloween yesterday - love HMH or hate it (and I am in the 'love it' camp!) - it makes good business sense for DLR to bring back HMH - especially now, when the economy is so bad and any little thing could keep visitors away from DLR at the drop of a hat. They need to do all they can to keep bringing people IN to the park. So, even if the original intention was to only run HMH for a year or two, they have to realize the popular demand for HMH and the crowds it brings in, and as I was also saying yesterday, without HMH, you basically have a giant Mickey pumpkin, a giant candy corn and some artfully carved Disney character jack-o-lanterns around the parks - but nothing that is really a big 'draw.' Not everyone goes to the TOTP (it costs extra money), so they need an 'event' of sorts to draw guests in for the Halloweentime season and make it more of a must-see thing like the Christmas season is. And unless they are going to suddenly trick out another DLR ride or attraction in a Halloween motif to the extent of HMH, I think the HMH is a necessary expenditure for DLR and they should always bring it back. I know that without an AP, I am probably not spending X number of dollars on a Park Hopper to only go and look at a giant pumpkin and a giant candy corn! I am going there for Halloweentime for the whole, complete Halloween package - and that includes HMH!
