anyone near toronto fly out of buffalo?

Whenever I fly to the US, I almost always go through Buffalo airport. It's so much cheaper!

We're going in August and I got flights on SouthWest for 3 of us for $471 US. This is opposed to paying $1300 CDN to fly out of Toronto. Considering that airport parking is only ~$40 for the week, you can't beat that.

Its the only way I can afford to go

Do Canadians need a passport to board a domestic flight within the United States now? I called Northwest Airlines and the ticket agent said no but, she's not at the gate either. Those of you who have boarded in the U.S. recently would know better I think!

I am about to book a non refundable flight and just wondered!

No. Not at this point. Possibly in the New Year. Right now you just need a boarding pass and Gov't ID (Drivers License).

Well, thank goodness! Things get complicated with our half American, half Canadian family sometimes! :yay: I have my passport but, others going with me don't yet...lol. The boys always put things off till the last second..at least if we fly out of the states this time they won't need it.

HI Menteith: I booked right over the internet. I chose the internet fare. It is non-refundable but very cheap. The SWA website is soooo easy to navigate and I printed off my confirmation at the end.
Don't forget to sign up for Rapid rewards!!!

I've lost count at this point of the number of times we've flown Southwest out of Buffalo. It's so much cheaper than Toronto. Our flights are actually free in August as we've earned a free flight from Southwest (actually not quite free as we had to pay $5 for one of the fees - can't quarrel with that though). My DH looked at flights in August on West Jet out of Toronto -- $1400 return for the two of us vs. $285 on Southwest. No brainer.

The Buffalo airport is small and really easy to navigate and Southwest is a great airline.

We flew out of Buffalo last year going to Panama City Beach and I would not fly from Toronto again unless it's with reward points :woohoo: We bought our tickets through Expedia and paid $1500 CDN for 2 adults and 2 children (with medical insurance!!). To do the same from Toronto would have cost us close to $2800. We drove to Buffalo the night before, since our flight was leaving at 6:00am the next morning. We stayed at the Sleep Inn which is right across the street, the night before and the night we came back. They have a park-n-fly. That way out kids were not totally exhausted. If you get to the airport early enough, the curb-side check in was definitely a plus for us. Oh, we flew United Airways. The walk to security check was very short, and since we had a stroller, we got to go through a separate line (I told my kids they will be on a stroller until they are 12:rolleyes1 ) When we came back, we stayed overnight. The day we did a bit of shopping in Buffalo before heading back to Toronto. I highly recommend Buffalo to everyone!:dance3: :cheer2:
