Hello everyone...My name is Gary and this is my first post here on the DIS Boards. Just to let everyone know, I come in peace!

I didn't know where else to post this so I'm starting here, perhaps if this isn't the best place to get a response, someone might know of a better one. Anyway, I love to video tape (via MiniDV) our family vacations and edit them into the corniest videos I can. I'm always on the lookout for ideas and examples of other Dads & Moms who do the same. Anyone here the same obsession? Have any places on the net I can see your stuff? I did find the one from Spectra is #1 and they are great!

So, anyone?

Well, my kids took a video of me doing the hula hoop thing on Wii Fit last weekend, but that's probably not what you mean, and I'm sure as heck not posting it here! :rotfl2: If my 8yo could figure out how to do it, it would probably be on You Tube by now. For the uninitiated, Wii Fit has an aerobic exercise where you pretend to be spinning multiple hula hoops. It's loads of fun, but you look like a complete idiot doing it--hence, their dash for a camera to embarrass old mom.

With my photography obsession, I've left dh in charge of the video, and he's not holding up his end of the bargain--pretty much just Christmas and birthdays, kids' programs at school and such. Standard stuff. Maybe you have some tips you could share. Do you set them to music or provide commentary or what? It would be nice to have more entertaining family videos.

And welcome to the Photo Board!

I made a wedding video once. and taped DW's showchoir and musical choir on their trip to wdw. But no wacky editing....

Oh, and HI!

Corny home videos? Is there a diffrent type? :rotfl2:

Now that you mention it, I suppose not!:)

Hey Fitz...yah, I do the music and the whole bit. I throw in the photos as well. There's nothing professional looking about them but I hope in 15 years we'll get a kick out of them. I've had lots of people tell us that our kids were too young to take to DW..."They'll never remember it!"...but having it all on DVD, they watch it and remember it like it was yesterday, and my youngest was 2 when we went. (We're heading back at Thanksgiving later this year.) My crew is 9, 6, & 4. Wife is...oh better not go there. But I'm 43!!!

It's funny, my in-laws all cringe when I have the camera rolling but are the first to ask if the video is done.::yes::

So back to the original question...anyone make corny vacation videos?:yay:

I make photo dvds as well using nero and add music, titles, credits, the whole nine yards. So, guilty.:cool1:
