Anyone make adjustments to travel certificate? Airtran

Hi- We were reimbursed with a travel certificate for each member of our party in Jan. when there was trouble with our flight and Airtran cancelled it due to a maintenance problem.

It states that the travel certificate is good within 1 year of travel (from our previous travel date Jan 2010) I'm trying to contact them but apparantly because of the weather they are busy. Has anyone been able to get an extension on their dates. We were looking to travel in April 2011, but this is 3 months outside the window.

I'd call up and politely ask for a refund. If it was due to maintenance, they may give you the money back. Ask for a supervisor if the first person isn't of any help.
