Anyone Made it Through Closing Recently?

I guess I just thought it would go faster than it has. How long should it take to go from waiver of ROFR to actual closing (and thence recievage of the check and/or entry into the system depending on which side of the transaction you are on).

How long ago were you notified you passed ROFR?

We were notified that we'd passed ROFR on Sept 24...still no closing docs. We leave for F&W on Sunday, so presumably the docs will be waiting for us when we return on Nov 1!

For Us:
We bought resale and were notified by email to home PC and DH cellphone by the TTS and TSClosing.

We made it through FROR in 10 days. We had a very active seller and the paperwork went quickly. The seller returned paperwork by the next day usually. Very Lucky for us and the TTS was very efficient.

Disney wants contract reworded 8/31
sent back to ROFR 9/4
passed ROFR 9/26
received closing docs 10/12
sent docs for closing 10/15

My contract states closing to be on or before 10/17....didn't make that date.....STILL waiting.

It may have been me, but I'm not the only one. I was told the resub wouldn't slow down ROFR...............hhmmmmmmm. It took alot of stress off when I booked backup ressies with cash. Just kind of bummed today not being able to close by now.

You sound like you are on the same timeline as me... My contract was submitted for ROFR on 9/5. I don't know the exact date it was waived just that it was the end of September. I haven't received any closing docs or anything...that surprises me because I don't have a mortgage. I don't understand what's holding things up. Even if the ROFR date was 9/30 you would think I'dve heard SOMETHING by now.

I have been complaining and worrying about my ROFR timeline and had also had my contract 'reworded' to include the status of 15 points. I just got the news only minutes ago that I have passed ROFR! Woo-hoo! $88/pt for Beach Club.... I was worried it might not squeak through at that price.



Timeline thus far:
Made offer and had it accepted on September 5th
Recieved contract from GMAC September 6th
Looooooooooooooong delay getting it back from the sellers....
Went for ROFR on September 21st
Disney notifies GMAC they would like the contract reworded October 5th
The amended (and signed) addendum went to Disney on October 8th
ROFR wavied (today) October 18th

So, it's been just over 6 weeks to this point and have been told it will take 2-3 weeks for closing and then I imagine I will have to wait some more to get into the system. Oh well... I'm in the home-stretch!

Great price too! We paid $94 per point for a 100 point contract at BCV but I was just psyched to get the size contract I wanted. Although I dont think my Disney rep was that happy I went through resale (even though he couldnt get me a contract for 5 months).Since then I called him and he never returned my call (and he always did before within 24 hours ) Coincidence

I received THE phone call this morning....we FINALLY closed!!!!

UPDATE: 10/22 Called MS this morning, just for the heck of it, and lo and behold I'M IN THE SYSTEM!! After all this I get in after just a weekend! (still no e-mail stating that we closed or e-mail saying we're in...so call don't wait on the e-mail)

I was given the standard "7-10" days, but who knows. I said when I started this that I believe in Murphy's Law and I believe it applies to me more than most. I'm not pessimistic....just speaking from past experiences.

What does it mean to be in the DVC system? We just got our intial paper work a few days ago. We hope to close by Dec 2. Yesterday I called DVC and was already able to bank my 2007 points for next year.

Did you buy direct of resale?
We bought resale so I think it takes time to convert ownership.
