We are trying to firm up our p.s.'s and are stuck on just one. We would really prefer doing C.P. for lunch, but have read some less than thrilling lunch reviews. Anyone do lunch recently? Anything good to report?

I think where the beef about CP is coming from is that they recently changed their lunch menu. You can look at it on www.wdwig.com and see for yourself. Now it is mainly cold cuts and salads and for the cost of the lunch buffet many are finding it's not worth it anymore.

We've always liked the CP, but with the recent change we are doing dinner instead. I too think that price is a little steep for sandwiches.

CP was always on our list, but this last July dinner was terriable and for 80.00, for three, a waste of money as well as a waste of time.
It is off our list until some of our crowd tells me differnent

Anyone else? I looked at the menu on Deb's site and I didn't think it looked that different from when we ate there a year ago. What has been removed from the buffet?

We just got back from CP for lunch on 8/14. There were at least 4 hot dishes I think. They were all good. I wish I could remember what they were. We did lots of buffets, sorry. But guess what the host/hostess at the door announced to everyone there would be no walk ups accepted for lunch or dinner. They were COMPLETELY sold out. He did tell one disgruntled persistent lady to go and try the wdw dine line. So if thats any indication and the crowd with us then I would say we all loved the CP. I think they were like beef, pork, chicken etc.

not all that recent but I got a "delicious" fried spider in my hash browns once there, nice and crunchy! the server said she'd give me "new "potatoes (out of the same pan) but I declined!

We were there last month and enjoyed the lunch. I unfortunately can't remember too much of they had, but I know that both my husband and I enjoyed it and felt it was worth it.

Interesting you should say that. I've written CP off our list because when we were there in May a very large "Palmetto bug" came scurrying out from under the dessert bar. The man next to me "squashed" it and a manager cleaned it up and got people to clear the dessert bar and bring out new desserts, but I was just too grossed out to eat anything else. I know this situation could probably have happened anywhere but when coupled with jann1033 I won't be returning anytime soon.

We ate lunch there on August 5th and enjoyed it so much we went back for dinner on the 7th. The lunch buffet had some of the same items that the dinner buffet had. I don't remember sandwiches being a mainstay of the buffet during lunch at all. If they were available, there were just more hot items there that I wasn't interested in sandwiches. There was a chicken pasta that was on both buffets that was very good and also salmon and roasted chicken.

I just checked the menus on the wdwig.com site for both lunch and dinner and I would say from my recollection that most of what was on our buffets was different.

I would highly recommend it and we will probably go there again when we return.

I guess that can happen any where and I know what they say about bugs and restaurants, I just don't want to see them when I am eating! I wonder if the management is different for each restaraunt. Maybe some are kept up better?...there was a post some where here about a AK room being dirty but I know I usually think of "clean" with Disney, even the campground rest rooms are pretty bug free( amazingly so). I'm with you though, two strikes and they are out, especially when it is buffet and especially- especially when the server didn't even act shocked or surprised ( she could have at least pretended to be!)....plenty of other places to go to!
