I have been approached about a job in Winston-Salem, NC. In many ways it is a perfect job for me, but.... I have never even thought about moving to Winston-Salem and wonder if I would like it.

So... what are housing costs like? Is there nice shopping? Would you move there again?

Anything else?

My son and his wife live there. He is working on his master of divinity at Wake Forrest University and she is a social worker with a children's home there. They have lived there since Aug. 30th, their wedding day. They seem to really like it there. Apartments are plentiful and I think you can find about any price range you want. Although when their lease is up they are moving to a small town to the east about 15 minutes away because they can rent a bigger apartment for less. There are all kinds of places to eat and a HUGE mall there. If there is something you really want to know PM me and I will send you my email address, ask him, and try to help you out. One thing that impressed me is it is an extremely clean city with a wonderful street system. They pride themselves by saying they are a large city and one is able to get from one side to the other in 20 minutes. Traffic lights are placed on the sides of the roads so you can tell when traffic will start moving at the light on ahead. There are concerts and a lot of cultural offerings. Also there are a lot of things to do in the area that are free. I will be more than glad to help you in anyway I can.

Thanks,
I will check out the best places.

Right now my gut is telling me no. I don't know why, but I don't seem to want to move to Winston Salem. The recruiter is suppose to call Monday so we will see what I say then.

I live in Burlington about 45 min. - 1 hour away. We go there alot for shopping, there is a really big mall - just don't go the weekends of December:crazy: I don't know all that much about it though, try www.thepiedmontchannel.com it's out of Winston-Salem if that doesn't pull up do a search for WXii. Winston is closer to the mountains and usually get a little more snow than we do, it's not far from the mountains and about 4 hours from the coast and don't forget 10-11 hours from WDW!!!!:)
