If this thread is in the wrong place, sorry..

We have the opportunity to move from the Midwest to Milton for a job relocation. Curious about two things:
First the Milton area.
Second, how is it driving from Milton to WDW?

Thank you!

We lived in Gulf Breeze for a lot of years. Our grown daughter lives in Pensacola with her family and we visit often.

Milton is a small town, very country vibe, not too much going on, but Pensacola has a lot more to do and it's within easy reach.

You can get to Pensacola Beach from Milton in about 40 minutes with tolls, or you could get to Navarre Beach in roughly the same amount of time with no tolls.

The drive to WDW from Milton is easy to do in one day, should take between 6 and 7 hours of driving time.

The drive is virtually all expressway: I-10 to I-75 to the Florida Turnpike. As noted above, 6-7 hours -- all open country, no cities. You'll pass outside Tallahassee and Gainesville, but not into or through.

Milton has a Naval Air Station located there. So lots of military. I had a friend stationed there many years ago.

Is that a good thing?

Seems like small town USA. If you need anything it seems like you have to travel to Pensacola.

My brother has lived in the Pensacola area for 20 years.

Lives in Milton now. Beautiful area. Less developed than Pensacola.

However, really traveling between one area and another is easy and you really don't know when you've left one town and entered another.

He and his wife work in Pensacola about 20 or 30 minutes away. Any stores you want are within easy distance.

There are shady areas in Pensacola as anywhere. Brother moved from his house of 20 years this year because the neighborhood was changing and he wanted a quieter area, thus Milton.

Home sold easy and fast.
