Anyone like the food in the American Adventure Pavilon?

I think it is horrible!! MacDonald's does better IMHO, and I do not like McDonald's. Shouldn't the food be better?

I think it's pretty embarressing what they chose for food in America. Felt like they should have had a Liberty tavern type place and then maybe a fast food place if they must.

I thought it was pretty good. Had a pregnancy craving for a hotdog & fries, and DH had a chicken caesar salad. Was fresh & tasty - just our experience.

I honestly couldn't tell you. There's no way I'm going to eat American food in World Showcase. There are too many more interesting places to eat!

I don't know. 2 of my kids got huge hot dogs with fries and one got a burger w/ fries. They liked it. The hot dogs looked pretty good, the burger looked like the burgers at every CS place in Disney. DH and I didn't eat there, having got fish and chips on our way there.

If you're asking me if it should have other maybe different "American" food besides burgers and hot dogs, than yes, I agree with you. However, the burgers and fries didn't seem "bad."

I have no issue with the food there. Is it haute cuisine? Nope. But, it is no worse, or better, than other counter service spots throughout WDW. Sure, it would have been nice to have a more upscale table service restaurant showcasing 'American' food there, rather than just a counter service. But, I sometimes have to wonder, what would they serve?? Lobster? Fried chicken? We have so many delicious food types in this country that it might be hard to narrow it down.
I have to say that when I'm on a solo day, this is one of the spots I head to to eat. Lots of room, and I don't feel strange sitting by myself.

I had some of the worst chicken strips ever there last month. I think the hot dog would have been a better choice.

I think it's pretty sad that this pavillion showcases the stereotype about American cuisine. VEryone thinks that American cuisine consists only of hot daog and hamburgers, and this pavillion endorses that stereotype that isn't true.

What could have been there? A restaurant like LTT. Thanksgiving dinner is some mystery to the rets of the world, we all know the turkeys from television, but not from real!
I don't know what they could do. Maybe have a TS-place with an all-round American menu (real hamburgers, not CS-burgers, steak, fried chicken, baked potatoes, ...) and then every month have some items of different regions, like they do now with the Route 66 - Oklahoma-boots at F&WF. That way, every time you go, you are surprised by delicious fod of different states!

I had to add this pic - it might not appeal to some, but after eating so many other varieties of food while we were there, a simple plain hot dog sounded so good to me. Plus the strawberry shortcake dessert was very good (I don't think they have that anymore).

We like it.

My youngest DS eats very little and is picky to boot. He always seems to devour the hot dogs here. I like he burgers with the toppings bar, and the fries are pretty good too. DH likes to stop there so he can get his Sam Adams, and with our kids (and me) being picky the menu works for us.

I have to say that I do enjoy it. I've stopped there for lunch when DBF is going for something I wouldnt eat. I usually get a burger.

It's CS food... not horrible, but not the best. Last time I ate there though, we were meeting a group and waiting to get in line for the Candelight Processional.

Tried it in July for the first time, and thought it was fine for what it is: CS food.

I found it to be better than several other of the WS CS options.

I've never eaten there, but I think they could have done a better job with the menu. It would be nice to see regional American specialties, rather than fast food quality burgers and hot dogs.

I'd happily eat American food, if by American they meant jambalaya or clam chowder or even buffalo wings and Chicago style pizza. But if "American" is code for "greasy, fried and uninteresting", I'll move on to a different pavilion.

I think the menu is what it is, though, because so many children (and quite a few adults) don't care for the ethnic foods offered in the other pavilions of the World Showcase. With McDs/Refreshment Port at the front and the American pavilion in the back, parents are always close to someplace to pick up chicken strips/nuggets for picky kids.

The food is pretty much like the other CS restaurants'. Edible, but nothing to get excited over. Unless you have a picky eater, there are much better places to eat in WS.

We think its fine for what it is - counter service fast food. The burgers and fries are decent and the hot dog it good.
