Anyone know why ???

Has anyone heard anything as to why DCL is not offering Eastern cruises for the months of August and September in 2004?
Is there a chance that new destinations are on the horizon for eastern cruisers.
Any gossip is appreciated.

Let's start a rumor and see how fast it spreads!!
Must be the 'new' Panama Canal Cruises.
That's the time to trial a Mediterranean Cruise, after all it is hurricane season in the Caribbean.
New cruise for limited time only to Alaska and the west coast.
Specialty promotion cruises for DVC members, annual Passport Holders, new Disney Credit Card users.
Hmmm. I will try to think of more.

DCL will be leasing the Magic to Carnival so their passengers can see what a real "Fun Ship" is like!
Week-long casino cruises just offshore & in international waters.

DCL is helping to train the costumed water skiers from WDW & doesn't want anyone to know.

The Magic will depart as usual but go as fast as it can, due east for 3 1/2 days and then turn around & head for home just to see how far they can get her.

They are still booking the western route, with cruises on August 14 and 28 and Sept. 11 and 25. I have no actual knowledge of this, but my guess is that they are playing with the idea of a different Caribbean itinerary for those dates. The ship will still be at Port Canaveral, because they are booking the western trips. There really isn't time for them to re-position it to another part of the world, only to bring it back for the following week. But, there are tons of other ports which could be included in a cruise leaving Port Canaveral. Worth keeping an eye out.
