It has been many years ago I have tried one but wondered if any places in and around Disney still serve Monte Cristo Sandwiches? I was trying to explain to someone here what they are like and realised I have not heard of anywhere to take them to try one for themselves. Many thanks!

I think you'll have to go to Disneyland to get one these days. Blue Bayou and Cafe Orleans both have them. I don't remember a time they were ever served anywhere in WDW, but it's definitely possible!

That was what I was afraid of. I wonder if there is anywhere outside of Disney in Orlando that would do them.

I used to love WDW's Monte Cristos too. Unfortunately they haven't made them for years and you can only get them at Disneyland.

The only other place that made them that I know of was a chain called Bennigans. They had a location in Orlando but, sadly, they closed down several years ago.

i live in the lake buena vista area and i can tell you i don't think they have any on the disney property, but you can try earl of sandwich. however, they definitely serve them at a place about 10 minutes from dtd called Gator's Dockside. all the locals love everything on the menu and you'll get a little taste of florida outside of disney. have fun! :)

They were deep fried after being dipped in an egg batter, sprinkled with powdered sugar, and served with raspberry preserves. I'm not usually a big fan of sweet and savory in one bite, but my goodness, I sure did love this sandwich. And I'm sure it was just loaded with fat and calories!

A lot of local places here in Chicago have a Monte Cristo on the menu, but they are always grilled rather than fried. Good, but not at all on the same level.

The Monte Cristos at Disneyland are exactly like this. They have the traditional ham/turkey/cheese Monte Cristo and a 4-cheese version. Sooooooo good!

Yes this was a childhood favourite of mine. Thanks for the info I will be taking my friend to try one next week! Think we will split one as they are very fattening!

Be Our Guest (lunch) & Chefs de France both serve Croque Monsieur sandwiches which are very similar to a Monte Cristo. :)
