I know Expedition is set to open in 2006 and probably Soarin' as well, but does anyone know the month?

:wave2:

Not sure which month in 2006 Everest is opening, but Soarin' is tentatively scheduled to open this May 2005. Hopefully it'll be on schedule since we'll be there for the kick-off of the 50th anniversary celebration.

Soarin is planned for May 2005 and Expedition Everest is planned for spring 2006. My guess would be in time for AK's 8th Aniversary which is Earth Day... April 22, 2006.

Soarin is guaranteed to be open to the public by May 5th in time for the Happiest Celebration on Earth. Expedition Everest is ahead of schedule so it may open as early as late this year or early 2006.

So glad to hear that..I am hoping that Expedition Everest will stay ahead of schedule enough to have a solft opening while we are there (end of the year)...wishful thinking. We were there for Philharmagic and Mission Space's soft openings and it was great!

Saw Expedition Everest last week at AK and it is huge!! It really changes the landscape at AK. Last time we ate lunch at FTB we watched animals grazing on the grass a ways away. We sat in the same area this time but the animals and grass were gone and in their place was the view of EE. I was surprised at how big it was.

FYI, Garden Grill just got word they are not reopening until July, I am wondering if this is going to effect Soarin?

Could you cite a reference for this information?

I have connections with cast members who work for the company who I hang out with all the time. I'm as much a Disney fanatic as everyone else so I ask them all the time what's new!!! And that's the reason they are putting in Soarin is for the Happiest Celebration on Earth so there is no reason they wouldn't have it open on or before May 5th.

I'm just thrilled about Soarin' ..The last tie we went to California Adventure I rode it twice thinking it would be ages before I could ride it again.. It's one of those rides that gives you chills.. I wa so happy to find out it was coming to Epcot

I'll give you Soarin' on May 5th. Disney already pretty much released that date. What I will question you on is your source for the "Everest is ahead of schedule". It has been seen that most CMs doing the normal day to day operations of the parks run on rumor as much as people on the Internet do. Heck, I know managers at AK that don't know the project schedule for Everest.

Unless your pals are doing the construction or directly up the chair from them, they are just running on rumor.

according to Admiral Boom, a castmember who posts on RADP and is usually very accurate with her info, here is the word on Soarin' and Expedition Everest... take it for what you wish...

Soarin' has already conducted some "super secret soft openings," AP passholders preview is scheduled for middle of April and everything is on target for opening on May 5, 2005...

Expedition Everest is still scheduled for a Spring 2006 opening... there have been some delays in getting construction materials for this project...

.

You know, I'm just here discussing different topics. I know that my sources are very reliable and you can believe what you want. I just know that Expedition Everest may or may not open earlier than expected. I think alot of it is wishful thinking but then again maybe they'll get far ahead of track and open early. Only time will tell.

I hope it does open early, thrillriderbb.

There is a press event for Soarin' on May 4 according to the Mickey Monitor. There is a contest to win tickets to the event for AP holders.

I know you are just relaying what you have heard.

But you just said "may or may not". I could have said that without talking to ANY CMs.

I find it much more likely that difficulties in procuring building materials is slowing progress, rather than the construction being ahead of schedule. Sure, it is Disney, but they are still working in a market that is backlogged recovering from the hurricanes.

I want it to open right away, just like you. I just like to qualify statements people make regarding rumors or "news". If you have been to any of the Disney Rumor sites, you will find the same reaction.

In the Mickey Monitor states - Soaring will be open in May 2005 in time for the Happiest Celebration on Earth. The Passholder Preview will be Friday, April 15 through Sunday, April 17 during regular Park Hours. I didn't see anything about Everest yet.

I HOPE Everest opens ahead, as we are going the 15 of April, so I just need them to be about 10 ish, days ahead of schedule, thats all. Not TOO much to hope for, huh?? :smooth:

thrillriderbb, I appreciate hearing what you hear. I understand this site is "water cooler" talk and anything posted is not gospel. Rumors are fun to hear, and I don't expect them to be documented.
