We will be in WDW Sept. 30 - Oct. 14. First week we're staying at OKW and 2nd we're at SSR. We own at BWV but wanted to try different resorts this time. Hope that helps all you SSR owners - some people will trade into your resort!! It's our first time at both resorts and our first time at that time of year.

What are crowds really like then? I know the guides put it as a low attendance time but I somehow didn't know about the race as part of the Food & Wine Fest. Should I expect big crowds? And if so, everywhere or is the big draw Epcot? I hate to think I blew it when I picked the dates!

I'd love to hear from anyone with experience in this basic time frame.

Thanks so much!

Schatterjee--

We have been going the first week in October for 4-5 years. We love it. In Fact, we're doing it again this year (BCV Oct 2-9). The weather is usually warm but not too humid, however last year was an exception to this. The crowds are very moderate and manageable. It does get a lot more crowded over the Columbus Day weekend however. Epcot isn't overcrowded during the week, but the weekends are a mob-scene. I would avoid Epcot on the weekends, but the F&W festival is fun. I would get your ADRs in place too. With the meal plans, the sit down restaurants are getting very booked even at this time of year.

All-in-all, this is our favorite time of year to go to WDW. We are already wondering what we will do when our DD7 is too old to take out of school for any length of time, because we just love the first week of October.

Hope you have a great time. If you have any other specific questions, let me know.
