Anyone know what time online Check in opens for Virgin?

Hi,

We are flying on Saturday from MAnchester on the VS73 1.30 pm flight.

Does anyone know what time the online check in opens tomorrow for this flight?

Online check in opens 24 hours from scheduled departure, so 1.30pm.

Never used this, what's it like? Does it take much pressure from the travel day or not?

We use the online check in every year with Virgin and we are amazed that more people don't use this service. It means that when you arrive at the Virgin desk at Gatwick you can just drop off your cases at a different point to the main check in queues. The whole process takes us less than 5 minutes. Instead of arriving 3 hours before your flight I think you can drop your cases off at any time up to 1 hour before the flight. This just takes the pressure off if you are delayed for any reason. You can also print your own boarding cards when you do the online check in so you know where you will be sitting. Have a good holiday.

Online check in is great, but for some reason the last 2 times it hasn't worked for us so ended up just going to the check in desk for 6 am. In December it was even worse because we couldn't even use the self service kiosks and had to use the proper check in desk. Then the check in agent had to ring someone, if I was not in such a laid back mood I would have been so stressed. I have not got a clue why we couldn't check in. I am hoping it will work okay on Sunday.

Using Downtown Disney is ideal as well, you get rid of your cases and also get to hear about any flight delays.

I've been given seat 78k - does anyone know if this is in the bubble as I cant open the seat page.

If you like getting to airport early then doesn't make too much difference to you(although I still would). We like to get there late as poss, drop bags go thru and board so online is essential for us.

Yes close to the back on the starboard side ie on the right as you enter from the stairs at the back, you are three rows from the back. As only 2 seats H is the aisle and K is the window seat.

I always do the online check in, go down the night before and put in the luggage into the twilight check in. Its so much more civilized and I don't have to worry about the train being late. I just wander down to the departure lounge and wait for the holiday to start.
