Anyone know what happened at Radiator Springs Racers today?

I talked to my CM friend and he said that it was a power issue, that when the power surged or went out that it caused the ride to "short out" and they hope to have it up and running very soon though he couldn't specify when.
He imagines that they have it roped off because it can get crowded there??

I live in northern LA county (Palmdale) and we didn't get any rain at all, just muggy humid weather...weird

It was very strange weather. We had 80% humidity yesterday (according to my thermometer)--I thought I lived in S CA not Florida.

My kids went to DLR today and already got FP to RSR, so it's up and running this morning (Saturday).

Brian Williams mentioned a HUGE solar flare was going to cause some power grid problems all the way down to California yesterday and today. Maybe that was it.

Did anyone notice how NOAA called the weather and weather.com and Accuweather were totally wrong?

yep and thats why I use it and recommend it to everyone...I dont use weather.com because you always have to add 5º to whatever they say and Accuweather just is never right about anything anymore..everytime I really need important info for a specific day NOAA gives me the correct info down to the hour...so whenever I start talking about the weather to someone especially in regards to rain I can always tell them oh its going to rain after 11am and sure enough it does...I ♥ NOAA:goodvibes

In line niw, ALMOST ready to board and they are having "technical issues". But I think irs about to start.

We did get on it, what an awesome ride!

We have another fp, we had two special fp's, each that would get six people on, no date or time restrictions. Nice cm's gave those to my son and several others who waited for over three hours hoping it would come back up Thursday night, which it didn't. Pretty much all but a few gave up waiting in the rain so whoever didn't got those special fp's.

We shared ours with a super nice guy and his son (who was celebrating his 8th bday today).

Looking at a line reporting site, and is it true that fastpasses for RSR are still available right now (1:30pm) on a saturday?

Did they start giving out more or is that due to blackout of deluxe passes on saturday? Maybe it's just all the APs that grab them in the morning?

No fastpasses left. We got here around 10:00, and they were long gone.

Thanks for the NOAA info. I'd never thought of it for checking weather before. A "duh" moment for me!

No fastpasses are left. We arrived at DCA at around 10:00 a.m. and they were already gone.

I think it may also have to do with the track getting wet (for the first time). It started to sprinkle heavily last night and the ride stopped for a good 20 min before it started again. A CM said because it was the first time it was running and there was rain there maybe a few kinks to deal with.
I'm wondering about this too. TT in EPCOT is notorious for shutting down in the rain (not a rare occurrence in Florida!), and if the rides use similar technology this may be an issue for RSR as well? Just my own, sparsely informed query. :scratchin

OK, thanks I guess the site I checked is just slow to update today. But it says the wait is under 2 hours. Is that accurate? (when you were there)

Looks like the site you are on isn't giving accurate info today. Try mousewait they are quite accurate.

not surprising as I told in an earlier thread. It is likely to shut down on average 15 times a day. I really hope this is just a "new ride let's fix the bugs and kinks out" type thing

Just got back, and the whole week I observed the following about the FP's for Radiator Springs Racers.

1. The FP's were pretty much done between 9:15 and 9:30 a.m. everyday.
2. It took on average 30-40 minutes in line just to get a FP.
3. By 8:20 a.m. or anytime after the line was already back to Hyperion Theatre.

The standby waits averaged 110 - 180 minutes depending on the day of the week, and the time of day. Tuesday was the heaviest day even more than the weekend. Twice on two different days, we went through the single rider line in 25 minutes. Hope this helps.

This is just what I saw. We were going to try to ride it before we left on Saturday, but it was still down. Oh well, I am glad we got to ride it a few times.:thumbsup2
