I am considering going on and booking a package for this fall. If I do it now, I can go on and make dining reservations now cause I'm in the 180 day window. If I change my mind and cancel the reservation later can I still keep my dining reservations? If a code comes out later that I like can I change my package to get the code and still keep my dining? I'm 99% sure that I will go, just not sure if I'm staying on site or not.

I don't see why not. The dining reservation are not tied to your resort reservation. If you cancel resort reservation, and decide to stay offsite, you can still use your dining reservation. The dining reservations are recorded under your phone number and not to a particular resort.

You can keep the ADR no matter if you cancel on site & stay off site. It is linked to your home phone number or whatever phone number you gave them. Only have to cancel them if you don't go to Disney

Ok, that sounds great!! Acouple of other questions. How late in the day are the phone lines open to take ressies? And does anyone have the #? preferably toll free if they have one.

Usually open to 10p ...the number is 407-wdw-dine.There is no toll free number.

I'm not sure how late they stay open, but pretty late. I called around 9pm one time and they were still open.

I do believe that the only way the resort reservation becomes important is if you want to book 180 days + 10 days (which is only available for onsite guests). I was told that 180 days is open to everyone, whether you stay onsite or not. And the ADRs are connected to your phone number not to your resort reservation. If you call them and ask them to go over your dining reservations, they will ask you for your phone number.

You don't have to be staying at a Disney resort to make a dining reservation 180 days out. It's just when you take in account the +10 day thing. I wasn't even sure if we were going to Disney World for Thanksgiving and I knew we would be staying offsite if we did. I called 180 days before Thanksgiving to get my dining reservation.

Dining reservations are in no way tied to your room reservation. You can start out at resort #1, switch to resort #2, then again to resort #3 all before you leave your house. Any dining reservations you made will still be there.

If you don't have a Disney confirmation number, you use your home telephone number.

Opened until 10pm Eastern. If you decide to canx resort resv. you can still keep your dining reserv. But if you purchased the DDP, and you canx that as well, you would need to call to take the plan off your dining reservation. Some events are prepaid to non ddp guests. If you have a ddp, those that should have been prepaid were just held on your cc as a guarantee.
