Anyone know of discount tickets to Carowinds Amusement Park?

We are going to Disney in August but we also have a trip planned to Hilton Head in June and we are stopping at Carowinds in NC/SC for two days. I was wondering if anyone knew of a two day ticket they may have.

From the Carowinds website:
(ages 7-54) Special offer -- pay full price ($49.99) and visit the park a second time for free! May be used any TWO public operating days during the 2006 season. This ticket is non-transferable and will require a validating signature upon entry and re-entry.


We are only an hour's drive away from Carowinds and my husband's employer offers discounted tickets to Carowinds for $20.00 per visit (in the past there have been no restrictions on who he can buy the tickets for). There are many other employers in the SC/NC area that offer this same price. Also the credit unions in the area offer discounts but I don't know how much. If you know someone in the area, they might could get them for you.

There's usually some kind of discount on either Coke or Pepsi cans if you don't want to buy ahead of time. I would stop somewhere in the vicinity and check.

On their website, they used to offer a discounted ticket if you bought it ahead of time and printed it on your computer, too.

Do you live any where near a Paramounts Park? A Carowinds season pass is good at all the parks. I believe they are $69.99 for the next week or so. We paid $49.99 last August for the rest of last year AND this year with free parking -- least we've paid ever. Depending on when you're going in August, you might be able to do that for next year if there's a chance of you coming back there or to another park.

Besides the soda cans, there usually is a fast food franchise promotion (Wendy's?) and a grocery store. It's probably only done in our area, but someone from here could mail you coupons. I'll try to post if I see anything really good.

If you are a member or you know a member of the NC State Employees' Credit Union, they have tickets for $30.00 each at their branch banks.

Also, when you are passing through NC, drop in at a Chick Filet and they have discount coupons. These would come in handy if you are going for just one day.

I live in South Charlotte. If you dont want to do just Carowinds for 2 days, there are some other options as well. LMK if you want more ideas.

CaroHell is one seriously over-priced park; as a result, discount tickets are fairly easy to find:

Specially marked Coke cans and Sundrop cans (a local soft drink -- try it!) have $10 off the ticket price.
Bojangles gives away coupons.
Harris Teeter sells tickets in its stores for a discount.
Without having looked at the prices this year, a season pass is usually less than the cost of two days' tickets.

Some of these coupons may be good for weekdays only.

If you go mid-week, I doubt you'll want to return for a second day; this park can easily be "done" in one day if there are no crowds.

Other hints about this park:
It's not easy to find the entrance to rides -- you'll be able to see the ride, but you can walk all around and fail to find the entrance! -- be sure to pick up a park map when you enter.
Carowinds' food is not very good, and it's expensive. The best-bets inside the park are Chickfillet and Subway (though they don't have the whole menu available). When we go, we always leave at mid-day and eat outside the park; there's plenty of good food just outside the gate.
Gas is cheaper in SC than in the surrounding states; you'll find two good gas stations right outside the park entrance.
The water park is INSIDE the main park and doesn't require a separate ticket.
The water park is very nice, but the lifeguards are insanely evil to little kids.
