My DH has just "approved" 2 extra days in Disney and we wanted to stay either "near" disney or "near" Universal Studios. They place doesn't have to be fancy, but I would like to feel "safe" and I would like to sleep on clean sheets. Does anyone know of any deals. I found Maingate Inn on 4156 West Vine Street Kissimmee, FL. It says its 7 miles from Disney, but I not too sure about the location. Its only $24 a night (no strings). If you have stayed here please share your experience.

If you know of any other "deals" during my Aug 6-8 day please let me know.

Will the Downtown Disney Holiday Inn "pick up" the Marriott $20 summer rate? This is the kind of deal I'm really looking for!!!

I wouldn't go 7 miles down that road...that could translate to 45 minutes in traffic.... Vine is a bit too far. Why don't you give Priceline a shot and stick to the Disney Zone or Universal Zone's.

On HotelKingdom.com, they ahve Quality Inn Maingate West for $37/night plus tax. It says 1 mi from Disney. If memory serves, I think it's across the street form HI Nikki Bird.

On Hotelmartusa, they have :
Econolodge Maingate Hawaiian, 42/night tax included
Econolodge Polynesian, 33/ night plus tax
Knights Inn Maingate East, 34/ night plus tax
LaQuinta Inn Lakeside, 40/night tax included
Quality Inn Polynesian, 38/night plus tax
Red Roof Inn, 41/night plus tax

I would definitely recommend priceline. Used it 2 times for Orlando reservations and have been very happy each time. Last year (August) was at the BW LBV Resort on Hotel Plaza for $25/night. Just won the Doubletree Villas Maingate for $39/night for another August stay.

I have never used priceline, but I think I would reccommend it. It does not sound like you are being too picky about where you stay. Have you looked at www.betterbidding.com ? I think that is the website, it will tell you all the hotels that have been coming up in each of the categories. You can see what other people have been bidding and receiving. You would probably be able to get a more expensive hotel for the same price or a little more.
