Anyone know if I can find this camera in the stores?

I am looking for the new Sony DSC-HX1 bridge camera. I am able to find only a few online. However I want to try out this camera and get a feel for it before I buy it. I have checked Best Buy and they do not have it. Our Ritz is closing down, so they do not have any new models. Could it be that it is so new that it has not reached the stores yet? Any feedback would be appreciated!

Do you have a Sony style store in your area? If so they should have it in stock.

I am interested in checking out this camera also. I was in Best Buy yesterday and they still don't have it. The sales person didn't even know they had a new Sony out, which wasn't that surprising. I will keep looking but with Circuit City and Ritz out of business the choices for stores with cameras and equipment are dwindling.

A sad sign of the times, but camera stores in all but the biggest cities are becoming increasingly rare. Your best bet was as mentioned above - the big corporate everything stores like Walmart, Target, Best Buy...even Costco may have it. But when it comes to making the actual purchase, most people turn to online as the prices are usually better.

I have not seen it but if you find one I would love to hear a review. I have been thinking about purchasing one but want to hear from someone who has tried it. I love the idea of the fast action shots. My Sony ultra zoom just broke and DH lost our Canon Rebel (yes, I am literally sick over this) with the zoom lens attached. I was going to wait on a new camera but this wait really stinks!

If you got to Sonystyle and click locate a dealer there is a place to put your zip code and how many mile radius you want it to look. I ordered this camera today from Dell and got free second day shipping. It will be interesting to see if it lives up to all the hype.
