Hey all, anyone on here know a program that could capture footage on vmk? i know the game uses shockwave (is that FLV??) and was wondering if there is a simple to use program that could allow us fans to capture in-game scenes (full motion, not pics)...i'd love to save some stuff if possible, maybe put it in my ipod lol (easy to do in .avi or .mpg)...thanks!!:happytv:

hi...i actually went looking around for a program that records your screen activity..and found a couple that work decently, but the quality mostly depends on your processor and your computer capabilities and whatnot. they record in the format you choose, avi mpg flv for the most part, and you can set it to a specific region of your screen or the entire screen, whatever your preference is. just do a search for screen recorders and you'll find a bunch of programs, there's bulent screen recorder, my screen recorder pro, just to name a few, but of course there's always the added cost...so i hope that helps a little!! :goodvibes

the easiest way is to use windows media encoder, search it right off of the microsoft website. Its what most of the vmk videos you see are using.

thanks a lot Aengus and Geggy, i'll be trying out your suggestions soon!:cool1:

ok just an update for those interested--i used geggy's and aengus's recommendations and here's what i found...it works (duh!). i use "snag it" to record a movie and it works very easily, it's simple to use and has some cool features....sang it has a free 30 day trial, so it won't even cost you anything for this last month of vmk. when posting to you tube i make the file smaller and more manageable by using media encoder....it's not as simple to use as snag it, but if i can figure it out i would guess most anybody could....

i posted some vmk vids on you tube, you can find them by doing a search for sillykid....thanks for the help guys and i hope this encourages others to capture a bit of vmk for their hard drives....popcorn::

I use a screen capture tool called "Screen Recorder" made by ZD Soft. It's freeware and it captures videos and stills. You can choose to capture a window, the whole screen or a section of the screen. Captures the mouse movements and even sound. I used that for my Jungle Cruise videos. And it uses minimal memory so you don't get that lag you do from Windows Media Encoder.
