I've just gotten a very small contract on BCV points (so excited!) but after factoring in closing costs, I realize that's it's pretty high per point. Anyone know what Disney is charging for these (I think they cover closing costs) and what kind of wait there is for them? Or should I just go with it because BCV points are so hard to come by in small contracts anyway?

DVC is sold out of BCV points. The only way they would have any more would be to exercise right of first refusal on contracts for sale. With the price of BCV points on resale it is not likely they would be picking up any with ROFR.
They may have a wait list for any they might have. I assume the price would be what they are charging for SSR at the time.

Right now Disney is charging $89 per point (25 point minimum). No additional charges, subject to availability--from what I was told yesterday, there is no April availability.

If you are trying to buy your first contract from Disney, you will have to buy 150 points, and as tiberius says, it's $89 a point. If you insist that you will only buy BCV from them, you will probably have a long wait.

If you buy this small contract, you would be a member. Then Disney will put you on a waitlist for an add-on of however many points you want.

So is the wait time different if you're a member? Or the same, but you can do any amount?

I'm thinking I should probably do this, because we just wanted a small number of points at BCV so we could use the pool sometimes - we'll probably buy another small contract somewhere else that's a little cheaper.

If you're a member, can you add on at other resorts, or just the one you already own?

As a member, you can add on from any resort; but you might have to wait for points to be available--and it must be the same use year as your main contract.

You can own at any of the resorts. I don't believe owning points at a resort gives you any privileges to use the facilities. I believe SAB is available only to guests of YC/BC/BCV. I doubt owning points, and not staying at BCV is likely to get you into SAB.

No, I actually meant that we could use the pool because we'd be staying there sometimes and could use it then. My kids would think that was a park all by itself. I didn't know different contracts had to be the same UY, though. I wonder why they do that?

Same use year is only if you buy direct from Disney. We own at two resorts with two different use years. Bought OKW resale and BCV direct from Disney.

jnrrt,
Did you get the 100 points from TTS? If so, those were the points that we just listed last night. We kept 200 BCV points for ourselves. You will LOVE the Epcot area; it's so convenient! And our girls, (9 and 11) could spend the whole vacation at SAB if we'd let them! Hope this isn't premature, but
WELCOME HOME NEIGHBOR!!

How funny! Yes, I saw it pop up last night, and I'd just said to my husband that if I saw 100 points with a Jan or Feb UY we should do it, and then I couldn't believe that I was the first one to call - they seem to go so quick!

Anyway, we're making sure that all the details will work, and we should know soon. And I remember staying at the BC once when I was little and my dad got some great deal (it was a very big event for us) and they couldn't get us out of the pool to go to the parks. So we thought we'd love to take our girls. We stayed last year at the Boardwalk while renting and loved that too, so we'll probably still move around - I love to see all the resorts, and that's one of the things I'm excited about with the DVC thing.

So thanks! And I hope it all works out and you can say welcome home officially!

Hi! You are probably doing the right thing by going for the resale if you really want BCV. Yes, you may be paying a little more (about 100-200) with closing costs then if you bought directly through Disney at the present $89 per point price, but as you know, you could be waiting a long time for those 100 points in the use year you want at BCV. Good Luck. The BC is GREAT!! :sunny:

Congrats! We did the same thing last year with BCV - saw it and called immediately. Of course, we already have add on fever, so I saw this listing with the same use year and accidentely :rotfl: told my wife who said "call quick"!

Thanks for saving me some $$$!
