during the storms? was there much damage? FW is closed but is there any thing else that is closed?

Here's the latest announcement from Disney:

The Walt Disney World Resort safely withstood Hurricane Jeanne, maintaining power throughout the storm and housing tens of thousands of Guests in its hotels.

While it is too early to assess the total impact of the storm, a visual inspection of the resort property has determined that it sustained minor wind and rain related damage - none of which hinders the resort's ability to open the parks Monday.

Hours for Monday, 9/27:

Magic Kingdom 9-8
Animal Kingdom 9-5
MGM 10-8
Epcot 10-9
DD Noon-11
Pleasure Island 7pm-2am
Blizzard Beach 10-5
Typhoon Lagoon Closed
Fort Wilderness Closed

My sisters checks into FW today (Wed). She had to spend yesterday at a villa at Old Key West. When she calls me later, I'll ask how much damage FW received.

Well, they offered my sister a 2 bd villa for the same rate during her entire stay so they did decide to take Disney up on their offer.
They went over to FW last night for dinner and she said it looked like a ghost town! :earseek: Not many campers at all, some loops only had one or two in the whole loop!! She said they lost a number of trees, they were repairing or replacing the roof to the Settlement and removing branches from the roofs of the cabins.

Aside from that, no real damage to anything and I am sure by this weekend, it will be booked as usual!! :hyper:
