My friend's brother and 15 yr old son are serious golf freaks and really want to golf at WDW. Has anyone played these courses? Any tips about when to reserve tee times? We'll be there 6/27~7/7,staying at the Dolphin. Thanks!!

but I can tell you what I've heard about these courses as a local.

1. I'd call to make reservations now, just to be on the safe side. The Disney courses are supposed to be professional courses and as such, are very popular, though tee-times might be easier to get in the summer when it's hot out. I know Disney offers a fall golf package that is very popular. You can also book your tee-times online.

2. The quality of the courses is superb -so much so that I know one of the courses hosts an annual golf tournament every year, and I've been told (not sure if this is true or not) that Tiger Woods has even practiced on these courses (he owns a home not far from Disney). I think any golfer would love the experience.

3. It's EXPENSIVE. The greens fees are well over $100 a person.

Here's the official Disney World link with lots of information.

I've been lucky enough to play both Palm and Magnolia. Both courses were in excellent condition, and you have alot of variety in the level of difficulty, depending on which tees you play from.

TIPS:
1 - Reserve your tee times as soon as you can. The courses can book up fast. You can always cancel later, if you have to.

2 - I would suggest playing early in the a.m. during the dates you mentioned. It gets VERY hot out there in the FL sun during mid-day hours in the Summer. A 1:00 p.m. tee time would be roasting!!

I will be playing at Oak Trail last week in Feb. It is a walk-only beginner course. I will be playing with my Dad and my 4 year old son(he hits it straighter than most adults I know, including me!) I will post my opinion (not scorecard) when I get back home.

I'll start naggin' them to get going and reserve their tee times
or else they won't get one for the early morning hours.
