Maybe not the right place to put this, but just wondering if anyone has stayed here and where it is. We are getting into Orlando the day before our scheduled stay at WL and were looking for something fun to do and a cool place to stay closeby. We want to be really close to Disney so that we can just hop over the first morning of our stay. Thanks. And,hope I didn't offend any disney people.

DON'T DO IT!!!!! They are way overpriced and they charge you for things that you may no even use! THey charge you for shuttle service even if you have your own car. Huge rip-off!!!NOt to mention a total eye-sore!

We were just there last week 4/17 - 4/20 and I'm surprised to hear such negative comments. It was clean, had plenty of storage space in the bedrooms and the bathroom, and had lots of activities.
There is no fee for the shuttle, so I don't know what the comment is about. The shuttle times are limited, so your stay in a park has to fit thier schedule. We missed the shuttle one night and it was a $20 cab fair from Sea World to Nick Hotel. To arrange to take the shuttle, there is a small podium in the gift shop where a gentleman was very helpful. (We wanted to go to Aquatica and he called to make sure it wasn't closed due to crowds so we didn't waste a trip). You do not have to purchase tickets from this podium to use the shuttle and it was free.

The hotel is on the expensive side, but if you are willing to splurge a little, I'd say go for it. We only stayed there for 3 days out of our vacation and it was totally about the kids. For adults, they serve liquor!!;)

There are two pool areas, one for the little ones and another for the older kids. I would avoid staying in a room that opens to the Lagoon Pool, as that is where there is action and noise from 8 am - 11 pm every day. Around 1pm on Friday, there was a Nick style game by the pool where kids and parents participated. My daughter got slimed!!! :rotfl2: And that's for winning!! Next to each pool is a water park type huge jungle gym. Chairs are sometimes hard to find, but I always found them. On Saturday, there was a movie by the pool on a large blow up movie screen. We happened to bring microwave popcorn popcorn:: (microwave and coffee maker in room), so we were all set. The kids could watch the movie while they swam.

There are activities every day and a full list was posted or delivered every day. If you want to participate in any of the shows at night, sign up early! They were full by 9 am! Customer/Guest Services is located in the mall to sign up and so is the theater.

One negative is that there are no restaurants within walking distance. Part of the hotel complex is "the mall". There is a buffet breakfast restaurant (so-so), Nick Cafe (food is pretty good!), a Subway, A&W and Pizza Hut. We relied totally on the free shuttle, so we ate at the hotel two nights. One night at the Cafe (very good buffet and super burger!)

Since we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge for another 3 night of our vacation (more adult oriented), this was the kid focused portion of our stay in Orlando.
My 11 year old loved it!:cloud9: I would assume anyone from 3 -13 would like this hotel.

I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I would recommend it to friends who were looking for this kind of experience, so I recommend it to you!

Don't forget to do a search for a coupon! I booked Nick Hotel through either expedia or hotels.com and found a 10% off coupon...saved me $68!

:lmao: :lmao:

This is so true!! If you go, don't go to the parks as there is so much to do on-site. My kids loved this place and we found the hotel to be as clean as most. The room had lots of space and we really liked the kitchenette for preparing small meals.

I'd only stay again if we could get a good rate. I think we paid $129/night when we stayed and the resort fee was only $10/day at that time. It has gone up to $25, but what hasn't gone up in price?

Yes, the mini golf is free. It's just a little area behind the big pool. It's lots of fun though! (and the basketball too). The shows are also free, but they are some activities you have to pay for like the crafts, and salon stuff. We didn't do any of that. My kids are 8, 5 and 15 months and they loved every minute of our time there. The pool is awesome and the characters are fun. Our room was great (2 bed kidsuite)...clean and lots of room. I have no complaints. If you are a Priority club member make sure to get your free popcorn and soda voucher!

"something" had been floating in the pool the day before..yuck..bad housekeeping, she broke her broom and left a huge sharp piece in our room, saw her in the next room, kindly put it on her cart and she put it back in our room...$10 extra day for resort fee(bus) and $10 for pool view.. we were priority club members and got nothing...dirty holiday inn that's all it is..

We've been there twice.
Got great rates thru Travelzoo promos.

Room was clean, housekeeping attentive (always need extra pillows).
I'm pretty picky and we've really enjoyed our stay.

Yes, the food is a bit pricey as well as the gift shop as is any gift shop in a resort area. There's a Walmart very close and it was great to have the fridge and microwave that I didn't have to pay extra for water and heating some little meals.

It's a hotel for kids and sometimes it's loud if you're near the big pool area. Ask for a room near the smaller pool or facing the parking lot.

And go have fun!
