Anyone know anything about the "jedi training"

I think I read something about this. As it happens, we are going to be there that last week of the Star Wars stuff. My DS, who just turned 4, is a star wars nut. I though I read where they select some kids for some sort of jedi training. Not that my son would ever want to actually participate (and besides, he is probably too young), does anyone know what this actually is and if it is something we could watch? I think he would enjoy seeing it, as he has his own light saber and loves to "fight" with anyone who will play with him.

I believe this is the same event that we participated in at last year's Star Wars Celebration convention, in Indianapolis. My daughter was 4 yrs old at the time. They set up a small stage and selected several kids from the audience to participate. My daughter got picked the 2nd time we watched it. The "Jedi Master" was pretty good about recognizing kids who had been waiting to be picked.

The kids are given Jedi robes and plastic lightsabers (the same type your son probably has at home) and the Master leads them through a short series of moves (block high; cut to the legs) until they have them memorized. Then Darth Vader comes out and the kids fight him, using the sequence of moves they have learned (very choreographed, there's nothing rough about it.)

The Master then announces that the kids have defeated D.V., who leaves in a huff. They all get certificates showing that they are official Padawans.

It's all on stage, where anyone can watch.
