I had phlebitis, and because it wasn't treated (sp?) on time/ in a good way, it got worse.
In stead of having injections during 10 days, I ended up having a thrombosis in my leg (blood cloth) which meant being many weeks at home from work, medication during months, the risk of getting it in my heart/ lungs/ brain/ ...
Just one thing: I didn't look at your username. In case you are female and planning to still have children, ask your doctor about the medication. the first doctor I went to (a professor in a university hospital) wanted to prescribe me a certain medication, that I had to take during 3 months. The other doctor I went to, said that if I took that particular medication for longer than a couple of weeks, I could forget to EVER have children (75% chance on a very handicapped child - a risk one can't take!)
