saw it on the travel channel last night.
it's unique that the temperature indoors is about 25 degrees year round. rooms of ice blocks.
They give you a snuggy looking blanket to wear and a knit hat and gloves.
drinkware is carved out of ice.
it looked like a fun place to try.
Does anyone know of it or have been there?

It's called Ice and it's at the Garlord Palms Hotel.

Ice at Gaylord Palms and IceBar are two different things,IceBar is located on International Drive by the Convention Center. It's basically a bar where everything is made of ice and it's so cold inside they have to give you these huge coats to go inside.I've never gone there but walked by it and I remember the admission was like $20 and included a drink.

Sorry, my mistake & here I thought I was "in the know". :lmao: I am not very well-versed on the "outside" of WDW. My DH kids me and reminds me there are other places like Seaworld & Universal in Orlando. :confused3 Who Knew? :goodvibes Thanks for the correct information. Penny:hippie:

Ice Bar on International is a very "unique" bar although a bit pricey. $20 cover gets you 1 drink. :cool1::banana:

we went last year for opening weekend and first off the obscene coverage charge put me off, but the BF just had to go - i am from NEPA and i hate the cold during the months where i have no choice (like right now with the 4 inches of snow and ice outside) and to pay to go somewhere to freeze and where a coat that others have worn was not for me. concept was original but i dont think it is worth the price - yes your cover gets you one drink but the drink prices were high as well

I've heard about this before. It sounded pretty interesting. I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the link!:goodvibes

This is almost as stupid as having an indoor ski mountain in a sweltering desert like Dubai. What a waste of energy. :sad2:

We went to the Ice bar and paid $15 to get a fancy cape and gloves and a trip into the ice bar. It was wonderful. The glasses are made of ice and we never had such great drinks. The staff was funny and attentive, so we forgot we were cold for a while. When we went back out to the lounge there was a saxaphone player who played all kinds of music and we spent another couple hours relaxing and "chilling out".

May not be for those wanting a disco or rave, but great for us! We highly recommend Ice bar for a Cool thing to do when you are tired of the regular downtown snooty staff.

Wish they served food, we would have stayed longer. Don't knock it until you have tried it. We LOVED it.:drinking1

that "hooker" is an intern from the Rosen School of Hospitality working to learn hospitality management. just because she is pretty doesn't mean she is a hooker. that is not nice, but she was a great hostess and fun to be around as well as pretty.
