We are going with DD dance group this summer. They are offering a breakfast voucher for $10 and a lunch voucher for $15. But I have no other information. If you have used these before are they a good deal? Where can I use them and what is included? Thank-you!

I have never seen ( or heard) of them before, but I assume it is some special thing your group got ( duh) anyway, any type of free money from Disney is a good deal. I thik that it will probably be for a CS location and if you go over that amount then you'll have to pay OP, but I could be wrong. Please post when you find out exactly as I am now very curious.

I saw a girl using one of these on my trip in December. We were next to each other in line at Flame Tree Barbeque. She could order what she wanted off the menu and then handed over the voucher. I know she did not recieve any change back. I assume you could use these at any counter service location. Looked pretty easy and she didn't end up having to pay OOP for anything! :thumbsup2

Sounds like the old "Quick and Casual" vouchers that were quite the hit here on the DIS in the early 2000's. I would also like to know more about them--it does sound like it is an offering just for large groups....

I just replied to someone with a similar question I think you may have also left a comment in that thread. Oh wait it was you who started the thread.

Here's what I just wrote. (to you)

I have done two Magic Music Days Programs with my sons' High School Band. This last trip I was in charge of almost everything including tickets and Meals.

When we went 4 years ago we gave each person 2 of those meal tickets per day. This time, two weeks ago, we gave them a $15 dollar Dining card per day. The reason for the change was because the meal tickets are only good for one meal at select dining locations.

Basically only the "main line" CS's where included (though things may have changed). At MK no Columbia Harbor house. At Epcot nothing but the Liberty Inn and Electric Umbrella. At DHS Toy Story Pizza and one other one I don't remember. Our group has 7th to 12th graders, from a few 70 lb girls who only want to eat soft pretzels to 6'5" 260 boys who could bankrupt a "all you care to eat" TS.

Most would waste money on the meal tickets because its really not a good deal. There really isn't any break with the ticket. If you don't get the side salad at Pizza Planet or the cookie, you've lost money on the deal. Also I could only come up with a few full meals that came to $14.

Oh and for the price for us it was $9 for breakfast, $14 for lunch/dinner. Dance groups may get a different price but I wonder if the organizers are bumping up the price to make more money.

There is nothing free about them, as per my PP its basically just prepaying for a meal. We thought of them as a way to make sure the kids got two meals into them a day.

Like most amusement type places, Disney doesn't like using the f-word. FREE:scared1:

Ooh, not at all the old Quick and Casual vouchers...With those old things you could eat wherever you wanted--even Beaches and Cream! These new ones are so limiting--it sounds like you are only allowed to order from the restaurants that people "in the know" don't even WANT to go to like Liberty Inn!

Yes it seemed like you only could go to the "McDonald's" of the CS restaurants.

With the dining cards some of our people did sit down like 50's PTC or got CS Japanese.

Thanks so much! Especially Chartle for responding to both my threads! I was HOPEFUL these were the old quick and casual vouchers. I was going to buy a few of them! ;) But with the limited places allowed I will pass. We have to pay for them next week and I guess they send them to the group organizer. It is just DD and I this trip and we will be fine just eating kids meals for 4 days! Thanks again!

If you are going with a group of kids who will blow all their money the first day and have nothing left for food by the last then these vouchers are a good deal. I watched some kids get the largest bfst (bounty bfst) and a drink and bakery item and eat very little and toss the food away. their bfst came to about $17.99 and they probably ate $4 worth.
then lunch was about the same, $17 roughly and they tossed more than 1/2. Such a waste of food.
If you can share meals with someone the vouchers would be a good deal, but again, you won't get much more than you paid, and if you are a big eater only 1/2 of the food.
Also, the vouchers in the past were good at Coronado and other places. these vouchers are only good at a few resort fast food places and some quick service at the parks. I know the person who did the school group so I could get the list for you if you really want.

We did something similar with our Middle School Band last year for Six Flags, as others mentioned, limited locations and limited entrees with no substitutions. I know I was forced to eat Papa Johns pizza for my $10 a pop! NO bargain. I hate what y'all are saying about the DIsney ones though since we are planning a MArching Band trip there this Christmas. :( As an incoming officer, I'll be sure to suggest buying the Disney cards instead.

Thanks for the offer to get a list of the places but I have decided to pay as I go. Hope you have a fun trip with the band. Our girls have been busy practicing.
