We're leaving for a few days at Mt. Tremblant later today, stopping in Cornwall overnight. Where's a good place to stay in Cornwall? I made a reservation at the Holiday Inn Express for tonight (includes a continental breakfast), but it doesn't have an indoor pool. In fact, it appears most of the hotels/motels in Cornwall have outdoor pools only, and those that do have an indoor pool don't include the continental breakfast.

Thanks for any suggestions.

if you have not already.

I am not sure about indoor pools, but most of the hotels in that area are pretty good.

Is this your first trip to Tremblant? Now that is one heck of a place ! Enjoy !

Maybe I'm just a little snickety tonight, but stopping in Cornwall for the night en route to Tremblant when you're so close to Montreal seems like a questionable move.

Why not press on, make it to downtown Mtl for the night (I'd recommend Residence Inn by Marriott for the pool and free breakfast) have a great day in Mtl the next day, then head up to Tremblant?

Because Montreal would be quite out of the way.

The shortest route would be to take rte 34 up from just east of Cornwall straight over to Quebec and then to the Laurentian autoroute.

Sorry Cornwall people, but we have had rotten luck at the hotels there. Most recent one was last August, stayed at The Holiday Inn Express, what a dump!! First they checked us into a room, that still had guests staying in. Then finally another room, that must have had a cat, because my cloth book bag, reeked of animal pee, you know that rancid smell, and then we noticed it around the corner area!! Threw that out!! We have stayed there at 2 other places over the last 5 years and haven't been happy!

I had checked out most of the other hotels on the link karma had posted, but that doesn't give you a "feel" for the places. We've always had good luck in the past with the HI Express, so in the end we opted for it. The room was fine, and the continental breakfast they provide was one of the better ones we've encountered. Also, it was a whole lot cheaper than stopping in cities on either side of Cornwall (Kingston or Montreal). I did notice there was a sign at the front desk indicating they no longer accepted pets, so they must have had a large number of problems including the one cassmat encountered.

Conditions are a little icy here at Tremblant, but we've had an inch or two of fresh snow overnight so we'll see how things are today - assuming we can get the kids up before noon. Ah, the joy of teenagers.

Thanks for posting that, we have always enjoyed the HI Expresses, but not those pet rooms, so we are pleased to know that!!

I had e-mailed a long letter, no response, so maybe it helped!!
