Just curious how the crowds are this week. I have good friends that were going to Epcot today and MK on Monday and was wondering how the crowds/waits for popular rides are. I have only been once in July and that was our first trip many years ago. I remember it being hot but can't remember line waits for that time of year. My friends have not been in 9 years and I was trying to email her tips/advise about fast passes and what rides to head for first. Thanks everyone

I'm going to move you over to Theme Park Strategies, that board tends to know just about everything.

DH and I are currently here. We went to EMH at MK yesterday and because of that we were able to do the 10 things we wanted and have lunch and be out by 12, it was great. Today we did MGM and were able to be done with both coasters in 35 minutes of EMH and squeeze into Sci Fi without a reservation at 11 am. I don't think the crowds are as bad as say Christmastime but the places seems more crowded than May. Last night and today have been rain showers as well. On the news they show 50% of rain through Tuesday, youch!

We were there 6/23/06 to 6/29/06. Very crowded, very hot. Lines were minimum of 40 minutes long. AK was VERY CROWDED....way TOO crowded. From what I understand, July is worse. We missed alot due to the crowds and long lines. Next time, we will go when less crowded, not as hot and have more time!

WOW you guys did well then. I sure hope my friends have a good time. They are not DISNEY INSANE like me...LOL They don't plan...don't seem to understand the need to. SO I HOPE THIS DOESN'T end up being a bad experience for them. It has been like 9 years since they last went. I tried to send her as much info. I could via email and that she would READ. LOL

Thanks for the info.

Interesting...we were there at the exact same time frame, and using FP and best parks advice from various websites, we never waited more than 15 minutes for anything. We took advantage of the many rain showers to clear out some crowds (did you go to evening EMH at MK on Sunday after the long rainstorm? It was great!). There were a few long lines (Soarin' was up to 100 minutes one evening), but we had FP's from earlier in the day for it, so it wasn't a problem. We went to Turtle Talk one evening around 7:00 and only waited 5 minutes. I guess different people have different experiences! You are right about AK being very crowded -- they have a winner with Everest -- but FP really helped there, too. We went there first thing one morning and got quick FP's then hopped in the standby line, which was still only about 15 minutes that early. When we came back later to use the FP's, the standby was 60 minutes. But I agree, just moving around AK was difficult with the crowds. We'd go again in a minute, though!

We just came back - 6/24 to 7/2.
Yes - crowded. I think everyone from NY/CT/PA was there.
All WDW resorts were booked solid - I think Y/BC still had some rooms.
School is out in the NorthEast the week of June 19th and I think people were trying to avoid hurricane season.

EPCOT seemed to handle the crowds well. AK was packed - we did an early morning and were out of the park by 11 AM. MK - again did early mornings - but as long as we used FP's we were fine. MGM Studio's - depending on what 'street' you were on depends on the crowds. Some more crowded than others.

As it gets into summer, WDW may thin out with the threat of hurricanes late in the summer. Just my guess :goodvibes
