It was for our 7 year anniversary. My DH didn't know anything about it -- in our family, all the planning for stuff like this is left up to me -- (works for me!!!) -- so when I made the PS I asked for the Re-hitching (at Garden Grill for a 1:50 p.m. lunch -- I know it's not the Social tho) -- anyway, the lady didn't know that much about it but added it to the PS and all that. She seemed to be able to pull up something on her computer about it.
Anyway, when we got there and checked in, I discreetly reminded them we planned to get re-hitched. We went through the whole character lunch with not a word about it... in fact, I thought maybe they'd forgotten because as we were getting ready to pay the bill and leave, the guy came by and asked me if we still wanted to do it. Another guy came out and made us stand up and included the people around us in the "ceremony." The announced our names and how long we'd been married and made us re-say, "I Do" to each other, then kiss to 100.... all the people around us were instructed to count to 100, first by counting 1-10 in ones, and then 10-20-30, etc. to 100... and that we had to kiss that whole time and then we'd be "re-hitched" for a lifetime. Then they presented us with a "certificate" of getting re-hitched and a cake.
Our 4 and 5 year old dd's were a bit befuddled by the whole thing, but when they brought out the small (and I mean small) round cake with a Mickey Mouse on it, they were excited! The cake was small enough that we just split it into four large pieces to share... could probably share it with 6-8 people though if you made it smaller pieces.
It was cute, but honestly, I expected a little more excitement about the whole thing. We didn't have that many people in the booths around us though, which probably contributed to that. I also thought it was a funny restaurant to offer this at since the booths are so private and it is kind of hard to get an "interaction" type of feel from it... it seems as if a Re-hitching would be better suited at a place like Whispering Canyon, IMHO... but you know, it didn't cost anything -- and it did surprise my dh who doesn't like attention called to him (and I love doing just that to him!) -- he was smiling when it was over too.
I wonder if they are telling you that they don't do it at Garden Grill anymore, if there's a way for the person taking your PS to check and see where they are doing it, because I thought there was another place too but I can't remember now.
