If you just got home maybe you can tell me if you saw any LOVE BUGS...those BLACK flying bugs that are attached to each other. They put a damper on pool time for us LAST SEPTEMBER and we are booking for NEXT MAY first week and want to be sure to avoid these critters. Any reviews on last week would be GREAT!

We just returned from our May 2- MAy 8th trip. Yes they were there, but they didn't bother any of us. We spent alot of time at the pool and no one made any comments about them.

We were there from 4/25 - 5/5 and I only saw a handful. It was a huge difference from our trip of 9/22 - 9/30 last year when those things seemed to be everywhere. Of course their timing may depend on weather conditions so next year might be different.

Same her just returned on May 7th and we only saw a few-We didnt know what they were!LOLThouht they might bite but we were never bothered.

Came back on 5/2 and only saw 2 up close the whole trip.

We got back 5/5, and only saw 2 (mating) on our balcony in 8 days. I was worried about them too, but we didn't see them anywhere else. I wonder if the severe drought FL is going through has messed up the lovebugs emergence schedule or severity this year? We went the first week in May about 4 years ago, and we didn't notice them at all then.

OK not a lot is good. Last Sept the were so bad and we have NO LOVE FOR THE LOVE BUGS....anyone else see TONS the first week in May this year?!!??!

I live in the north so we don't have love bugs up here. If you wear bug spray do they typically leave you alone? I don't usually get bothered by the mosquitos up here, but DBF does, so I'm sure the love bugs will bother him too!

My impression of things was that Love Bugs bother each other, but not humans. They are just gross to look at!

We also just returned 5/7 and saw only a few, but nowhere near as many as we did last September!

We were there April 25-May 6 and only saw a few. If you are going the first week, it would probably be fine.

I just got off the phone with my cousin who lives in Orlando and she was complaining about how bad the love bugs are right now, She said one of her kids was outside eating a giant lolipop and she came in crying because there were love bugs stuck to it!!! :crazy2:

The lovebugs just started popping out last week but today they are out in full force! I was sitting at a red light and they were swarming by.

oh no what do you mean by everywhere? swarms? :scared: i really really really dislike those things.

They were at the resort, pool, bus stop, etc. Saw them at the parks, everywhere actually. They don't "swarm" in packs, but they were flying all over.

Sorry, I don't think you can avoid them.

Ok, what are "lovebugs"? Do they bite? We are going in August (end). Is that a bad lovebug season??:confused3
