My DS has the two weeks before Easter off NEXT year, although in 2005 it's in March. So I'm wondering how the crowds are building up to Easter.

Anyone just back? How was it?

:)

Just came home today. The crowds were not too bad...Animal Kingdom was the best as far as the lines. We did not wait more than 10 minutes and never even had to use a fast pass. I would suggest head to back of the parks first though....that is what our strategy was and it worked out great....Take a zip loc bag for camera, etc on water ride though...

Sounds like you had a good time :), thanks for the reply.

We went last June (3rd week) and I didn't find that too bad. I had planned well, we had our PS's, used fastpass and all - I don't really have an impression of the crowds being bad. Maybe organization is just key!

we got back yesterday...we were prepared for the worst, and were pleasantly surprised at how manageable things were. Starting on Thursday, we noticed a big difference in the crowds and the traffic heading into FL on Friday was very heavy....

Hi Madge,
I'm glad to hear your trip was manageable. I'm sure you're right about the crowds and traffic - have always heard the week immediately before and after Easter are bad.

Next year we may take the first week of DS's vacation to go down to FL and like you, leave before it get's really packed.

I should also add that I had no trouble adding a night to our stay with an Annual Pass discount. The Dolphin was booked, so we called CRO and had a choice of several resorts with discount availability :)

We are just back yesterday and found it to be pretty crowded. Did MK on Thursday (missed EE) and fast passes were gone for Splash Mount and Thunder as well pretty fast. Pooh & Buzz up to 55 minute waits when we left. Crowd for Wishes when we came back was packed. Friday at Epcot very crowded in morning and early afternoon not so bad in late afternoon. Last Character bus was busiest I have ever seen it. Only had time for 3 character autographs with the lines. Got test track passes at 12 for 6:50pm. Lots of tennage groups (not he best behaving either). Will do a trip report hopefuly this week. Spoke to some CMs and they all agreed that Easter is going to be packed. Good luck. Hope this helps.

LadyTrampScamp&Angel,
I think there are a LOT of school districts that are lumping an Easter Break and Spring Break together in 2005. You can still have fun with a crowd, but I would predict that week will be VERRRRY crowded at Disney. Often the southern states have a March break and a separate EAster Break, which would mean that not everyone is out of school at the same time. From what I can tell by researching school district calendars, everyone is out of school that week next year. Whatever you decide, have fun!

We got back yesterday and I thought the crowds were pretty bad. The weather was very good, though and people seemed to be having alot of fun.

We went to MK on Wed. and it was much too crowded for us. The other parks were ok, but not MK. Just too many people, too many strollers.

Every place we went to eat was packed. Even with PSs we were waiting too long.

We stayed at the AKL and they were at 100% most of the days we were there.

We just got back... like most people here <lol> and we had gone to MK on Tuesday and only went on about 13 rides (may sound like alot, but when you count how many rides they have, it isn't as much as you would like to get in)

Epcot was no where near as bad. Went on Thurs. We went on everything we wanted to go on.... Mission:Space, Test Track, Universe of Energy Ride, The Land boat ride, etc...(basically every ride I beleive) including some little boat rides and a few shows in the countries, and were waiting around, shopping eating and such waiting for the Illuminations to start, and we also didn't get there when it opened., maybe about 11.

Went to Blizzard Beach Wed. and it wan't bad at all. Summit Plummet was an hour or so wait.

We have decided that we will not do MK during Sprink Break ever again, but might do MGM, Epcot, Animal Kingdom. Hope this helps yah!

Oh wow, thanks for letting me know. Crowds are NOT my thing. I'm now thinking we'll take DS out of school for a week at a different time :(

We were at AK yesterday and I was told by a CM that they were expecting 40,000 people, which is unusual for a Sunday. Sunday's are usually pretty calm for AK. Wait times weren't to bad though, the people were really scattered around.
