:sunny: I was just wondering if anyone has just returned from SOG. I wanted to know if the transportation and housekeeping have improved? And if the Italian Restaurant has opened yet? Any information would be appreciated.

We returned home on May 16.

There are two buses. Bus A goes to the TTC and runs every 15 minutes each way. Bus B goes to MGM, AK and waterparks. Runs every 30 minutes each way.

Only used Bus A one day to get to Epcot. Transfer at TTC to a monorail. I didn't have any problems. The bus was there when I got down to the lobby and only waited about 10 minutes at TTC that night. Good part was, we have the first bus stop to the right at the TTC.

The Italian restaurant still wasn't opened.

Only used housekeeping once. Can't complain. Everything was done and they didn't even take the tip!

The refrigerator in the room was nice, but it won't hold a gallon size water.

Didn't use the parking garage. Used valet for the entire time we were there. It worked out great. We just called down before we left our room and the car was waiting!

Parking at all the parks is free for SOG customers.

Our room was very close to the mickey shaped pool in the original section.

They still seem to be working out some kinks, but it is very pretty.

Any other questions, don't hesitate to ask!

:) Thank you for posting a reply. I do have a few more questions.

1. Is the Breakfast cart opened yet?

2. Did you eat the buffet at Evergreens? If so, was it good and what was the cost for adults and children?

3. Do you think that I can fit 1/2 gallon of milk in the refrigerator?

4. How long did it take you to get to Epcot? My daughter and I have a PS at 8:30 for the Princess Storybook in Epcot. I am trying to decide when we must leave SOG to be on time.

Thank you for your time and help.:earsgirl:

Dawn,

1. I didn't see the breakfast cart. Sorry.

2. I think the buffet was only at Evergreens until the restaurant opened. Since that is open now, I think Evergreens has gone back to it's normal menu. We didn't eat there this time, but I think before the buffet was around $13.

3. You shouldn't have any problem with a half gallon of milk.

4. You will need to assume that you will have to wait for the bus for 15 minutes, then the ride over to TTC took a few minutes. (The worst part was we had to make a left into the bus parking lot. I didn't think we were ever going to get across traffic. You would think one of the other buses would have let us go, but no.)
Wait for the monorail, ride to Epcot, go through security, walk to Norway. I would say to play it safe allow at least one hour. The worst that could happen is you are a little early. It took me less than that, but the bus was already there and a monorail was pulling up when I arrived at the TTC.

Any other questions???

:sunny: I think that you covered everything. Thanks so much for taking the time to answer my questions. :wave2:

Was the bus crowded? Did people have to stand most of the time like other resorts (The Beach Club is the worst for this)

It wasn't until after 9am that I got the bus and no one was standing. But even coming back from Epcot at closing, no one was standing either.

How about walking? How far is it to the Polynesian, time wise? (figure a leaisurely stroll.) Can a person walk to Magic Kingdom? (Maybe if they walk to the Polynesian then to Magic Kingdom?)

It's a 10-15 min stroll to the Polynesian. You cannot walk to the MK from the Polynesian or GF. The supposed "Walkway Around The World" has never been finished so the only resort accessible from the MK by foot is the Contemporary.
