Just wonderd if anyone was just back and how evertything was.
We arrive June 7 and leave June 13. Just me and the wife we will be on our 2nd anniversary and want to stay somewhere off the main path.
Prob 2nd floor to keep down noise from foot traffic.
Thanks for any advise or comments :wave2:

We just got back from POR on 2/6/05. It was our first time at this
resort, we have stayed at POFQ. We had alligator bayou section
16. It was a good location very quiet and not to far from the
food court. It was also right next to the quiet pool but I
never heard any noise from it. The room we had had also
been redone so it was spotless. Have a good time.

Have never stayed at PO but recently scheduled a carriage ride through the property. What a lovely resort! The buildings and grounds are so pretty, and it seemed very quiet and relaxing. We especially liked the mansion section in the old Dixie Landing side of the resort but the FQ was very pretty too. Surprise your wife with a carriage ride one evening and have a wonderful anniversary trip!

We are going in a couple of weeks!! Yeah!! I've been looking for pictures of the newly remodeled rooms. Does anyone have any? Do they still have the same linens, carpet, drapes, etc.?

We always stay on the AB side because of the trundle. It is especially nice now that we don't have to pay the extra $15/day!! We can buy more Mickey Bars!! :mickeybar

I stayed at Parterre Place in November and was quite pleased. It was recently renovated, with frig in room and beds were the most comfortable I've ever slept on.(I was asleep one nite by 7:30 & that's without having little kids with us!). We've stayed 3X at Parterre Place, always on 2nd floor on side facing the quiet pool by Oak Manor. GREAT location as just steps away from the bridge to main building and very close to parking lot, which is important to us as we use our rental car alot. Also, the housekeeper was wonderful. I can't remember his name(Roberto?)but he left us our first towel "art" and was very thorough.

I agree with Snoozan. DH and I were last there in Oct, and I loved Panterre Place. We also stayed on the second floor near quiet pool. It's quiet, and there is a bridge right there to go over to the lobby and it's close to the parking lot. Ricardo is the mousekeeper, and he's the best one we've ever had (moderate or deluxe). Beds are comfy. I will definitely request Panterre Place when I go again.

You can get rooms with a trundle free now?

We just returned on 2/18. We stayed 4 nights at POR and 3 nights at Poly. We usually ask for AB building 14 or 18, but this time I didn't ask for anything in particular. We were assigned Parterre Place and it was off the beaten path. We had a nice river view and the building was very quiet. I enjoyed it very much. My 10 yo DD, however, thought we were too far from the main pool and the food court. If you're looking for quiet, I think Parterre is perfect.

I've read that they discontinued the $15 surcharge in January. When I booked with CRO, they did not charge me.

We just got back a few days ago. Absolutely loved the Port Orleans Riverside. We stayed in the Magnolia Bend section overlooking the pool and just a short walk to the lobby and food court. The room was great - fridge, iron, ironing board and coffeemaker. We usually drove to the parks since there was no parking fee but the few times we took the bus was fine. We also took the boat to Downtown Disney which was a nice ride. Hope this helps! Doreen

We just got back and we were also in Paterre Place. I loved it - overlooked the pool and it was only a short walk to the food court. I would definitely request this again.

We will be @ POR March28-April 4th. Is Paterre Place a smoking building? I was going to request that building, but I thought I read somewhere that it is a smoking building and thats not what we want.

If it is a smoking building then we weren't aware of it. I usually do request non-smoking.

Doreen

Parterre Place is NOT the smoking building. I believe part of Oak Manor is, though. That's one reason I request PP - I've never had a problem with smoke in this building.
