I'm going to DL the last week of March and would really love to go in on the photo pass. Everwonderin got me thinking about it. Sounds like you can get about 300 pics on it. I was thinking of up to 5 people (that would be 60 pics each) and it would be $20 each (at least from what I understand.) I'd be willing to go with less or more people, depending upon feedback.

Let me know.

I'm going on Monday Mar 5th....would possibly be interested, even just to split it! How would it work?

We will be there March 28-April 2 but I have no idea what Photopass is? I've only read bits and pieces about it? What is it - how do you propose to work a split?

I don't have alot of time at the moment, so I'm going to cut and paste this response from another one I did....

The photopass is a little card (or multiple little cards) that photographers all over the parks and resorts take pictures of you and your family at various locations, with various backdrops. Then, you can use the code to go online and purchase the pictures. Or, purchase the entire thing (including reproduction rights) on a CD.
Recently, members of this forum went in together on a photo pass CD. There were 5 of them, each of them could add up to 60 pictures (for the 300 max). The cost for each was $20. Though, it was recommended that everyone pay an extra $1 or 2 since the person who coordinated it all still had to burn the 5 cd's for people and send it out to them. They did it too early for mine. I believe it will stay on there for 60 days. You have to go online and register the cards within 30 and then the pictures will remain there for another 30 days? Typically it's done through paypal. Could do it by check, otherwise.

I'm back and I have the card!! We ended up using 98 pics! There are photos on here that dont belong to me though, I have no idea who they are, I guess they got our cards mixed up at some point! But most are mine! From what I have read and if I am understanding it correctly, they pictures will expire in 30days (April 9, 2007)!

Wow, Jessica, you got alot of them! Cool! Sounds like you had fun! Not sure why you got those extras, though. That didn't make much sense....
From what I understand, I do believe you are able to register your card online, and must do it within 30 days, but I think you then have 30 days after that to purchase the cd

Question. Does the ability to order the CD from the website expire, or does the CD somehow expire? I'm getting confused. :upsidedow

From what I've been told (and this is not me doing it, but what I've been told) if you don't register the pictures within 30 days, they basically disappear. Then, you have another 30 days after that within which to purchase the CD, if you've registered the pic's. If you don't purchase the CD within that 60 day window, the ability to do so expires. Once you purchase the CD with the pics on it, it doesn't expire.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, please, but that's what I understand.

I am working on my cd right now. We came back from WDW last week with 180 pictures! I am currently saving copies of each pic with each border they offer. It is very time consuming but it will be worth it in the end to have all of the borders on my pictures. So my 180 is now up to 353. It will be well worth the CD in the end.

We're working on it! From what I understand, they implemented new rules that make it more difficult to mix groupings. The problem comes into play when you create an account and view pictures. You aren't able to combine different accounts onto one CD, and you can't have more than one account per photopass card. These changes just came into play on 1/11/2007, and many people were waiting until close to the end of the timeframe, so are just recently discovering the issue. It used to be, as long as the person creating the CD was able to identify the account and password, you could combine multiple accounts. But, now, it looks like they all have to have the same one. So, if you haven't created an account yet, and are interested in going in on a CD, let me know. You can PM me, and I'll find out from those who are more in the know what the account and password needs to look like and we'll go from there.

I'm bumping this up to see if anyone is still interested?! I "may" have one person already who's contacted me, but they're not sure if they'll get enough pic's to make it worthwhile. PM me if you're interested, please!!!
The big "caution" as I understand it is that we'd all need to be under the same "account" and password when you register to view your pics. Then, everyone would be able to use the account and password to register your pictures, put on any enhancements. One person would then order the CD using the account and passwords and then make copies and send out. I'd be happy to do that piece of it.
Please let me know. There are about 300 pics that can go on the CD, so we'd have more than enough space to share!

Anyone still in on this? I just got the "your photos will expire shortly" email. I'll order 2 photos unless I can split a cd with someone in the next week.:)

I hope you find someone to share, but just wanted to clarify for you. About 300 pics will fit on one CD, but if you have more than that in your account, they'll just send multiple CD's for the same price. I just placed an order this morning for the CD and had almost 500 pics in my order. I also placed an order back in January right after you could add borders, but before the price increase, and also received 2 CD's at that time.

And when you're adding borders, be sure to check to see if you could get a "better" picture by zooming or moving the crop around a bit. Also be aware if you're planning to get 4 X 6 prints that what you see on the Photopass site is what you get if you print a 5 X 7, so if you're printing a 4 X 6 you'll lose a bit of the picture along the longest edge. I'm not sure how to describe that better, but if you load the picture into software or a site like Shutterfly and preview the picture as a 4 X 6 you'll see what I mean. I just be sure to leave some extra room in the picture that I know I won't mind when it gets chopped off in the 4 X 6 print.

I just went back & checked and the original pictures are actually 4 X 6, but any that I did edits on Photopass site online are 5 X 7. That's really weird! You'd think they would all be the same.

I was the one who organized the photopass share thing back in December. It worked out great. Definitely worth it since it had the only photos of all of us together as a family. Also made it MUCH more affordable. DH had said there was no way we could afford to pay $100 for pictures. But, $20 was definitely do-able for us! Hope you get enough people zoe!
