Anyone interested in a Disneyland Paris croc exchange?

I'd love to look after Fern when we go away next month, especially as she looks to be in need of a holiday again now :rotfl: I'll PM you my details.

Just thought I'd let you all know that Fern has now reached us safely on the south coast and she's settling in nicely with "a few" friends :)

I did have to tell her off though, as I caught her trying to get into my fish tank (presumably she was trying to eat the fish!)

there's some pictures of Flic on page 15 of this very thread.

oh my, what amazing pics and what a fantastic adventure the little croc is having ... I love it :) I would volunteer for our trip in October however I think our 2 year old would want to keep her !!!

That's quite a big risk with me, but I found more Ferns in a shop in Southampton so it's safe :)

Yep, I was right; huge risk. Amongst other things tomorrow, I think I shall be popping over to Southampton on the train in order to pick up a couple of Ferns before I send the real one on early next week. Hopefully I'll get round to posting Fern's trip report here fairly soon.

Expensive thing this croc exchange ;)

Kyra was devasted when i sent Flik on, she keeps asking for him lol. I'm looking forward to having Fern on our September trip.

At Kyra's age, that's acceptable and understandable. At my age (23)? I'm starting to think that should be 2.3 :rotfl:

I'm 25 in two weeks and I had to buy another 'Fern' for myself because I missed her sitting on my desk so much. Crocs are very addictive. :scared:

Btw I just have to mention this because I am so excited. I have Fern's cousin Faolan from the US exchange now and we leave in a week for Disney World. :cloud9: I hope all of you have great trips to Disneyland Paris while I'm away.

Fern's now started her journey along the south coast to Ware Bears, so she's entrusted me with the task of reporting back about her time with us.

Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin:

Fern arrived mid July and settled in very quickly (see the earlier 2 pictures I posted).

On the 18th, we headed for Winchester for a Quaker Weekend. To get there, we had to travel by bus, followed boat, then train, then foot (well, Fern hitch-hiked in my already heavy rucksack).

On the way there, Fern stopped to look at the Warrior docked in Portsmouth Harbour as it always is.

While in Winchester, Fern and I learnt about the stars in an inflatable planetarium, buddhist meditation, local food and Quaker membership. There was also the little task of keeping an eye on about 8 children from 7 - 18. they were better behaved than we were expecting, save for a couple of moments involving a yoghurt pot and chasing one of them around the building trying to get them into a session! :rotfl:

We left Winchester feeling rather tired, but had a good weekend all the same and made some new friends which is always good. Plus, we got "accepted" to spend the evening socialising with the older teenagers, so can't be too out of touch yet ;)

After Winchester, Fern retired back to her favourite spot with the other animals until it was time to leave for DLRP. we left on the Friday night and drove to Folkestone. Once there, Fern spent the entire night staring out of the window at the EuroTunnel terminal which she could see out of the window. When I woke up the next morning and went to collect her, I found that she had been joined by Mickey who had apparantly snuck in somehow from his room next door.

Once we'd all got up and went for breakfast, we headed off to the car and drove onto the train, where we parked the car. Fern picked her spot on the dashboard, then the train departed and before we knew it, we were in France!

Eventually, we arrived at DLRP, where Fern had a great time for the next 5 days. She got to meet lots of the characters and ride plenty of rides, including (but certainly not limited to) the tea cups, space mountain and tower of terror which was here favourite. She made a game out of seeing how high off of my lap she could fly on TOT - she made it to my shoulders when I wasn't concentrating once!

she also really enjoyed watching Fantillusions from her spot perched high on the rope, so she was devastated when it was cancelled on Monday.

On Monday we all travelled to Parc Asterix, so Fern was a little confused when we arrived.

web.jpg

She had a good day at Asterix though; even when confronted with rides like Gouderix she didn't chicken out, plus she rode her first wooden coaster - Tonerre De Zeus.

Wedensday was a really hot day, so Fern got quite tired that day. She tried looking really hard for something to drink, but had little luck.

web.jpg

Fortunately, we managed to find her some water at a drinking fountain, which gave her plenty of energy to finish the day and the holiday with.

Fern also had a great time outside the park at meal times.

while in Ludwig's, she decided to try to imitate her distant cousin Godzilla by going on a rampage across DB's cars :rotfl2:

DB also got quite impatient at Cafe mickey on the last day, so he and Mum left a little early. Fern, ever the opportunist, leapt straight into his seat and waited for something to eat. Unfortunately for her, we'd just about finished so she didn't get anything.

web.jpg

By the end, she didn't want to leave. At one point, I turned my back on her for all of 30 seconds and she was gone! I found her shortly after though, trying to hide amongst all the Toy Story green aliens. Apparantly she wanted to stay and just meet Ware Bears there, rather than come back to the UK.

web.jpg

She was disappointed to have to leave and stared longingly back towards the park as we left, although I reminded her that she'd be back in just over 10 days.

DB and I really enjoyed having Fern with us while we were away. So much so, in fact, that last weekend we drove over to Southampton to collect Fern's cousin (who I'm told is also called Fern). Her other cousin (who's name I don't know yet) is currently in the mail on the way here too!

Those of you who are observant may also notice that Fern has gained a new ribbon bow, crafted from some ribbon she picked up after the Once Upon a Dream Parade stopped in front of us. Needless to say, she's now wearing it with pride as a memory of her time with us.

We wish Fern many happy trips to DLRP (I'm quite jealous) and hope to see her again in the future :goodvibes

Cool pictures, it looks like a fun trip. I can't wait to take Fern back with us in October, she will be joining us a the Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party. Right now I have Ferns other cousin Flower (also from the US board) at my house who will be coming to Disneyland with us on Monday!!

Good idea about giving Fern some the ribbon from the parade. Hubby and I always grab some from the parades if none of the kids around us want it. We call it 'magic ribbon'. :lovestruc

Mel

PM sent for Fern between January 4th and 8th :)

OOh i have Flik then so If you get Fern then they will also be meeting up aswell! How sweet.

We really enjoyed having Fern along on our trip. :goodvibes

She is now on her way to pinkradleygirl and I'll post up about her adventures soon.
