Wow. You guys are amazing. I have never seen so many awesome cakes in one place
I have a question for those of you who work with fondant. Can you freeze the cake after you´ve put the fondant on? If yes, how do you thaw them again?
From someone on another site...
"No, you can not freeze a fondant covered cake. The problem is when it is defrosting, the moisture is trapped under the fondant and has no where to evaporate. Your cake will turn to mush and the air bubbles will be trapped under the fondant when you remove it from the freezer."
What you CAN do is level, cut, fill and crumb-coated a cake that gets frozen; later you can thaw and then cover in fondant, but never cover and then freeze.
Hope that helps!
